the opposition parties in Singapore are disparate and fragmented. Wouldnt it be better to merge and form a coalition party to challenge PAP. that way the coalition party have pool resources together and candidates and win at least a GRC and few single seats from PAP.
The Liberals ? Haha..
0% chance. SDA breaking off into 2 big fragments this time round - spat between Chiam and Desmond.
SDA used to comprise a lot of opposition parties, with NSP inclusive, but also has broken off.
As long as there is no 3 corner fight, the chance is higher. Not necessary to merge.
what chance and resources if each party are to contest as separate and independent party. look at other countries, where opposition parties form a coalition. that way they stand a much better chance, as compared to a single party.
frankly speaking, how long can Chiam continue as a lone fighter and lone voice in the parliament? he is frail and old. will this be his last election or next election will be his last?

Agree. They can work hand in hand on terms they agree on for elections. Rather than form an alliance and than run into problems and end up in a spat.
as long as S'poreans continue to live like ignorant mice...............no one can save them............
i've long suspect that the opposition leaders are actually working for the PAP too.............
especially that Dr Chee...........he tries too hard to be viewed as a radical nut...............
unless got opposition party backed by a billionaire..............then maybe something will happen........
to resist LKY............you must have guts and money............brains not as important...........

They can form coalition if they won not necessary to merge or forge alliance.
you need a gutsy and wise leader to unite the parties. I doubt we will ever find such a opposition leader in Singapore.

You need a shrewd and conniving one.
Diamonds cut diamonds.
Form coalition party will not win.
PAP too ,khdkdfjd to let any opposition wins.
PAP is branded . Local people love branded goods.

Brand needs to upkeep its branding. Sometimes brand can be a liability.
Sinporeans won't bother. Brands to show off.
have you heard this before? the higher you climb, the harder you fall. PAP has climbed so high up, its time they fall down hard. unless you tell me, they will remain the top forever.
They will remain top.
time will tell.
No parties their match.
I rather the opposition pool their resources and money and candidates and contest at every seat. this way, we will not have people who want to vote for opposition and then realise they cant vote due to walkover.

SDA is a failure.
SPP fighting among themselves.
PKMS fighting among themselves.
NSP pulled out years ago.
Are we going to watch a cat vs mouse fight?
I still reckoned in order for opposition to have a chance to win a few more single wards and win 1 GRC, they need to form a coalition. Although they may differ from their parties mission and objective, but their common objective and mission is to win a few more single seats and win at least 1 or 2 GRCs and see how it goes from there for the good of Singapore.
Now is abit too late for any coalition to tbe form as ge is very near.
They should do it long long years ago.
But whenever ge comes, sure conflicits among them arises.
Sigh!
thats why our opposition cannot make it. thats why there are walkovers come GE.
merger is not necessary. Just avoid multi-corner fights for higher chances.
