The recent exit of George Yeo and entrance of Tin Pei Ling exposes the major flaws of the GRC system. Where good veteran politicians are expunge from parliament and weaker candidates are exalted to parliament.
GRC System should be removed (return to SMC), instead a system of percentage minority race representation be enforced amongst the political parties. i.e. If your political party has 20 candidates, maybe 4-5 candidates should be from the minority races.
Isn't this a better alternative where each potential candidates stand on their own feet, compete on their own merits, rather than cowering under the shoulders of giants.
I'm fine with it as long as PAP is fine with it, as long as TPL is not in my GRC.

Don't think it won't happen.
Next election the incumbent will send her along with their no names to your GRC for their "baptism of fire" .
They might not want to risk losing more ministers against the WP "A" team.
PAP won't be that difficult to defeat in the next election if the opposition gets their act together.
It would be impossible for PAP to field all A Team (all heavyweight politicians) in all GRCs, it would be good for opposition to specifically target (like what WP had done in Aljunied GRC) certain GRCs with their A Team candidates and very soon PAP's death grip on power will fall.
Regarding this tpl/GY issue, this thought just occured to me:
They could disqualify tpl on her cooling off day matter and then put GY in Marine Parade GRC to contest in a by election.
This way, the PM can kill 2 birds with one stone.
Get GY elected back as a MP, and pacify those who are not too happy with tpl.
The way I see it, even pro incumbent supporters are not too keen about tpl being MP.
Kate spade vouchers to those who vote me in!

But this proves that Singapore is not a society based on meritocracy like what the PAP claims, it's based on secret connections and a seat in parliament can be gained through the backdoors.
You don't even need any political experience, just have the right connections, stand in Tanjong Pagar or Ang Mo Kio, it's a guaranteed entrance to parliament.
their scholarship system today in e first place is something to ponder abt alrdy

First day living in Singapore?
But they definitely need to do a rethink on this.
PM has to now decide what to do with tpl and GY without affecting any credibility of the system.

The only reason why Lee Kuan Yew came to power in the first place is that he is a dog of the british.
There are no other reasons.

I nominate Tin Pei Ling for Foreign Affairs Minister, she will be able to travel abroad more often so that she can get her LV, Prada, Chanel, CD, Gucci and Ferragamo cheaper from Europe.
Tin Pei Ling for Foreign Affairs Minister!!!
She's will be extremely diplomatic with her non-aligned stance of "I don't know what to say!", which is good for diplomacy.
Thats the way it is.
In a team relay, the team thats finished first, that team wins.
You cannot say it is unfair because the losing team contains a world champion and the winning team are all amatuers.
The PAP invented the GRC system, they knew the score, they set the rules. Win, win 5; lose, lose 5.
Unfair would be the Potong Pasir results. It should be considered a draw if the difference is less than, say one or two percentage points.
I am sure the PAP will implement that if they lost by 0.7%
more examples like GRC good for hippos. gun them down faster. even if they return to SMC system, chances are a 1-1 fight hippos still stand a chacne when they are up against a single KL faced lighting.

That's a great idea.
GY can be her FMM (Foreign Minister Mentor) .
Woohoo.

Why.....why would the PM do that to his trusted secretary's dear wife? Oh dear. Won't happen in a million years.

I quote SM Goh: "A win is a win."

For a start, we need to show PAP that GRC is not working for Singapore by signing the petition to remove TPL:
The Nomination Forms don't mean anything ah?
Sign up for Tanjong Pagar and on the cooling off day, just go anywhere for the fun of it.
actually, fuck it...
the people voted that bimbo in with lau goh, they can live with it and "repent" for the next 5 years
If the candidate's nomination papers are correctly, and eligible voters vote correctly, the the election is legitimate.
This is the peoples choice, or at least the voters doing.
After the results are out, then come and say the hansome one should win, that one should lose, this one cmi, you don't underrestand how come this one can win, all no use, the vote is cast.
yup.. the horse has already bolted...
Well, she flouted the cooling day law. There is a possibility of by-elections where Marine Paraders have to vote a second time.
I won't mind seeing others in Parliament from MIW. Anyone except TPL, MBT.
suddenly, the people of Aljunied are retarded...
hmmmm...
i think this pisses off the people even more... even in defeat, their supporters show the arrogance of their masters...
except for George Yeo who showed some dignity in his defeat although the media immediately showed him giving a speech instead of the winner
