How to monetize a blog?

Hi, this is a question to bloggers or anyone who has knowledge about earning money from a blog. I know about google's Adsense, but it is not that effective. Anyone have any methods of monetizing the blog?

Have real contents that everyone read. Update occasionally. Monetizing a blog is usually based on the amount of traffic (unique viewership) you have per month.
Monetizing a blog does not always needs to be Adsense. It can also come from advertising company like NuffNang and other company that want to advertise. You can also sell your "spot" for a small monthly fee so that when a read click on the picture, he/she is brought directly to the vendor's website. :-D
