On Friday, 12 June 09, me and my friends were having a great dinner at this Lebanese restaurant, SANOBAR @ The Pier. In the midst of the belly dancing, a man from next door outlet called Hannibal came and throw out one of our empty seat. He then instructed his waiter to come and shove our table away. We, being in the midst of our dinner were aghast and appalled by their behaviour. I shouted out twice “put down the table” but the waiter refused to listen, lift up our tables, shoved it to the side, thereby hurting my friend’s finger. We called for the police, and we decided to take this men who shockingly was the owner from HANNIBAL, a Croatian, to court for causing hurt, hurling verbal abuse and threats.
Apparently after the investigation, we came to realise that we were sitting on this spot right in between a column shared by SANOBAR and Hannibal. SANOBAR was fully packed with patrons and Hannibal was only 20% full. There was no reason for him to fight for that space at that time. The Croatian did it out of pure spite and jealousy. His behaviour is uncouth, pathetic, despicable and disrespectful. He totally lost control of the situation, his emotion, and the way he handled his staff.
The owner from Hannibal is such an embarrassment to the restaurant. With his management, I doubt the service or food @ Hannibal will be of any good. I will not recommend anyone of you to even come near that restaurant, though I will definitely be going back to SANOBAR for their belly dancing workshop!
