What do you guys think?
i think it's amazing.. how did he generate that kind of power. and is it pushing hands or sticky hands?
its push hand, tuishou in taiqi.
I am learning tuishou now. the experienced practitioners used their kua, deriving strength at your tummy, can easily throw your opponent off. tuishou is not simple to learn. it looks simple, but you need to practise until you are good with one hand, before you are taught using two hands movement.
the description was a little confusing, so this teacher, he teaches taiji quan right?
i'm abit confused between taiji's pushing hands, and wing chun's sticky hands.
if you hear tuishou or push hands, its taichi.
tuishou doesnt use strength from the hand, it utilises its strength from the kua from the hip. it is said to be a spring that can generate alot of strength from there. if you played tennis, you know what I am talking about.
if you use strength from the hand in tuishou, the other guy just dodges and gently returning the strength back to you without a need to even use any strength. anyway the strength generated from the hand isnt much anyway.
dumbdumb, Guo Shifu teaches mainly (Ma and Cheng) Bagua, though he is also a Yang Taiji and Xingyi teacher. All three arts have their own types of push hands.
Rooney, power in tuishou should ideally be whole-body power, not just kua power.
cool =)
is anyone taking WC here?
