SINGAPORE: The National Environment Agency (NEA) said there is a growing interest in the Happy Toilet programme among food operators.
To date, seven food operator chains have come on board with 59 percent of 98 toilets under their collective management awarded the Happy Toilet certification.
One of them is a coffeeshop in Jurong West, which is managed by NTUC FoodFare.
The group has invested S$100,000 to upgrade toilets in eight of its coffeeshops and foodcourts this year.
NEA
said it plans to collaborate with coffee shop and bar associations to
get 700 of their members to turn their restrooms into Happy Toilets.
