  The Land Transport Authority said on Saturday that it will be simplifying its Taxi Availability (TA) framework and scrapping the requirement for cabbies to ply at least 250km every day.  str.sg/4do7

  So no need to drv more than 250km,can earn more?the real issue is not this.the real issues with taxi drvrs r the high rental n competition fr uber/grab.indirectly its bet locals vs foreigners n those below 30yrs old

  Next yeari hope we have less sleepy taxi drivers on the road and less accident involved taxi brothers. my taxi brother 68 years old still driving omo a big relief for him. god bless him.

  Taxi operator should do more to keep existing drivers rather than attracting new hirer.

  But many existing drivers, nearly 50% already pass 60year old, 30% pass 50 years old only 20% 50 years old and below. So, they need to attract new blood, especially younger ones, but today younger ones are joining UG, so they have to give promotion to new hirer lor

  Drive less and spent less time inside the taxis is a different issue. Drive less doesn't imply you spent less hours inside the taxis, eg, when at Q, you not driving, so your mileage will be low, but more time spent on Q.

  There are many hirer in their 30s... don't keep looking at bak bak lah...

  30s TDs, many jump ship liao lah, 30s, house still not pay finish, kids still young, family still youngs...this installment, that rental installment...no easy, better go find a job lah, at least can upgrade and get promoted, drive Taxis or Phv in their 30s, 30 years later, still same same..

Boy, you must be thinking Singapore are all born to work only Given the chance and the economy downturn, many opts for self employ, kids of today are unlike yesterday, whereby most of us are very hungry, today, most Singapore kids are born with silver spoon (some gold and also some bronze), and only wait for daddy and mommy to die, then can take over the fortune built over the last 2 generation, so why go work??? just drive a PHV and try the best lor Now you know why PHV allow 21years old

  phv make money or not? 

  let you decide by yourselves

  The Fact is..... driving is no longer that ideal for making a living

  But with phv, you can take it as riding a "cow" and hunt for a "horse"

  Well, we tend to treasure what was lost, so if you got a job, although not paying well and maybe with a fark face boss but still bearable, stick to it and see how you can improve on it, like upgrading yourself. Because driving is going to be worst, and getting worst.
