its a dilemma!!
hirer, no relief - u drive till u are really shag, 7 days a week, like it or not, high cost, drive longer to see same amount of money
relief - easier to see $, but also subject to hirer's mood, as and when they ask u to return key. of course relief can do the same too. it'll take a while again before u can get another hirer partnership..
i don't buy the theory u are your own boss, own time own target.
we still subject to company nonsense, if u slack too much, no income
The taxi availability std is out of date, hope LTA will abolish it sooner possible.
With the threat of U/G everybody gotta work a little bit longer n can't be too choosy abt paxs.Times r bad n calls for desperate measures.
But sad to say, most in front said die die no join grab, but behind all taking grabcall…that is how 10 Tds, 10 assholes title come about.
u always believe in this theory..
yesterday i fetched a lady from depot road to cck, she told me that she was going to airport on thursday morning
i offered to fetch her to the airport. at first she said OK
when she reached her place, she said No need liao.
cannot trust females at all
Hi all! I just got my TDVL. Very new to this forum. Need advice / guidance on taxi business. I am currently working 9am to 6pm job including Sat. Any advice If i want to drive part time to gain experience and learn the trade? I am looking at driving once or twice a week. I am also not familiar with routes. Abt How long do i need to familiarize with the roads?
Either you become super relief which means you get to drive when there are opportunities (which may not be every week).
Or you become permanent relief. If you want to drive once a week, then either every Sat night or Sunday Day, night or full day. But must commit one or no hirer will take you.
Familiarity with routes is not dependent on how long you drive but how smart you do your homework. If you drive using GPS all the time, give you 30 years also you will not be familiar with routes.
It's not really true, use GPS doesn't mean u won't learn the routes. But just that must use with common sense.u see all those PH like U/G all use them.Sometimes must go with the flow to improve.
Thanks for your kind advice! Seems like super relief is more suitable for me. I hope i can survive as a newbie. Must pray for nice and understanding passengers!
If no gps, i don't have confident to pick up passengers. Cos i didn't drive for 5 years alrdy. But agreed that i cannot solely depend on gps. Can't wait to learn this trade fast!

everyone start from somewhere, u are not born to know everything. learn as u earn (drive). any destination not sure, ask pax to guide, otherwise run google map or waze
Thanks!!! Really appreciate all your replies! With no frds and families in this trade, i need to depend on this forum for more info. Cheers!

Ya lor. Have to really depend on passengers to guide. Very *malu* but need to overcome this inital 'sotong' stage.
