damage caused by uber/grab, at times pax do double booking, see pax getting into private cars (with a active screen) at driver's side.
sometimes drive here and there, see so many green lantern around, taxi stands like nex so long queue of taxis till traffic lights despite the lta cameras there in the afternoon as well as late at night.
whats your driving style to max out income/call opportunity?
hanor hanor
when i at taxi stands or pick up bays, everyone else is waiting for their uber/grab to come and ppl are alighting from their uber/grab oso
I've ask 1 uber driver how much he earn, he say is better that normal taxi because his father was a taxi driver. He say i've not stop driving from morning till night.. as taxi sometimes you just had to wait in line or hope you can pick up on the way.
Dun affect me. Earning is still constant. Bo skills of course difficult lah. Must learn to adapt.

Cannon bo? Many uber driver tell me more you drive the lesser is the profit. Because of high levy and high fuel cost. Morning till night non stop how can beat taxi earnings? Even same collections the uber have to pay more levy and fuel cost more then taxi.

btw, those cannon man are to be forgiven, for their weakness in self esteem.
They know it, we know it. They left with nothing but boastfulness to keep their life "meaningful".

you do not need any style in driving, because you can never know where you will end up everyday, it is more for people who are retrenched and take it as an interim period and also for people like me,
old man and woman whose childrens have grown up, married and living happily, we just drive to make our brain stay sensible before dementia set in.
In today digitalization age moving toward an industrial 4.0 model/blueprint, young peoples should educate and train themselves more on robotics, IT , digitalization management, digital remote, control and services.
The economy today is going into a slow pace as the next phase of a new industrial is slowly taking place to churn up the economy again, by then, you will hv self actualization in doing most thing, from driver less to fully automate factories and fully self service.
If you notice the changes in our education system, you will understand the movement of our govt nurturing our youngs toward this new digital industrial.
All these shall lead to reduction in labours, stay abreast of all other countries who are still using tuk tuk or proton saga as taxis, a digital knowledge base local workforce that service the need of this new industrial and with it, a faster pace of improvement and huge leap for the economy of Singapore.
So, Still drive smlj taxi??? nobody will be in a right mind to tell his or her sons to be a taxi or apps drivers, if so, the parents must be siao liao.
Long ago, I already said it very clearly, taxis driving or even apps driving is never a way to earn a living and bringing up a young family,
i agree with the above, esp so in todays market sentiment. people with no debts or commitments, can drive taxi to keep themselves sane. the piece of cake gone smaller due to 3rd party apps, pick ups, new mrt lines etc etc. but people in mid life crisis also being squezzed out of job market.
this year, i see many business, neighborhood shops, food stalls, having a real hard time too
total driverless vehicle is still too early stage now as its too risky to put your life on a machine.

need to know where to hide and where to take calls, cruising around is not the right way to drive
bad times - cabby become actors and monkeys
Even as they acted out scenarios depicting challenges such as handling difficult passengers, National Taxi Association executive adviser Ang Hin Kee spoke off stage about the larger challenges they face.
On the sidelines of a PAssionArts Festival event where cabbies put up a play in public for the first time, he said business has been slow for them. "During the school holidays, there were fewer families and working adults taking taxis, so the volume was low. There is also competition from private-hire drivers."
Cabbies have had to drive 14 to 15 hours a day to make enough money, up from the typical 12, he noted.
When they start work, they are already at a $130 "deficit", he said, referring to the rental for their taxis.
He called on the authorities to have "clearer enforcement rules", especially when it comes to private- hire drivers from operators such as Uber and Grab who pick up passengers at taxi stands or on the streets.
As for the show, Mr Ang, an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, said it brought the arts to the heartland with a topic that would resonate with people.
Mostly in Mandarin, the 45- minute show borrowed characters from the Chinese classic novel, Journey To The West, and played to an audience of about 250.
Five cabbies spent two months rehearsing for the play, performed under a tent at an open space in Ang Mo Kio. Two others who are not cabbies played supporting roles.
Cabby Tan Soon Heng, 57, who played the Monkey God, said they met once a week initially, then twice a week as the show date got closer.
Fellow cabby Tan Eng Cheong, 59, said they did their best. "I'm very tired. Acting is not easy."
The play depicted cabbies' day- to-day encounters and acts of kindness, including that of a driver who offered to donate his liver.
Mr Kan Chee Yong, 37, a civil servant who watched the show, said: "It's enriching for the audience and it gives us a glimpse into their lives."
what works for one may not work for the others

airport taxi q is a good indicative whats happening outside
Always remember that in an airport queue, there are many old birds and gian pern cabbies. If outside got business, you think those cabbies so stupid and queue?
When you see a long queue with E-class, Vellfires, Maxicab and normal taxis all queuing up. You should not think you are smarter than those 400 taxi uncles and aunties.
