when i was young..i am quite stupid....i was walkin home frm sch...to interchange...damn tired after my band practice...then 2 young girls (younger than me) stop me...ask me if i free to go to their church on dono nex mth wat date..then i say for wat? (tat time i dono anyting abt christian)....(shouldnt have ask them..should have ignore them & walk away)....bt out of politeness & curiousity...y 2 young girls jioin ppl go outing to church? then later they pass me a small story book....then explain to me page by page....spend 1 hour telling me the whole story....how jesus come to this world..n sacrifice & so mus attend their church gathering....i was so stupid to stand there for 1 hr.......damn tire....bt see them waste so much saliva tokin to me...in the end i jus yin siew them say "U give me ur contact no..i contact u again..."then i ask wheres the church?? then they say the church is in hotel......I was like...
then i jus insist on calling them again..so they realy give me their no...& the small story bk for soveniour...then finish liao i quickly run all the way home...........sibei tire...go home slp............in the end go home..i throw the story bk on my table...then my mum so angry....kpkb....ask me hw i get the bk..etc.........then i tell her lor..then she tell me those are to physc ppl to their church 1....etc...then dono lar...i go slp after tat...wow stil remember sia..so tired tat time...
anyway...yrs later i heard frm my christian fren tat by right a christian should not physco ppl on the streets ..................isit true??
although i am buddhist i am nt tryin to condemn christian..in fact..buddhist aso gt those stupid monk sell god card....gt once i experience in streets...gt one monk approach me..then give me the card...then later he ask me to donate some money..pass me a bk to write my name n amt donated......i say hw much? he say "suai pian lar..$20 , $40 $100...." i was like ....then tat time me oni gt 1 dollar no withdraw money mah...then i say "oni $1 u wan ahh?" then he aso bu fang guo.....he like so irritated then say "ok lar..." then take my money away............always see him in town area ...tink gt once news report they catchin tis kinda monk rite? i think by rite a monk should nt go to streets & ask ppl to buy tings n pay money..........like bo jien hu leh... anyway i learn my lesson..the nex time i see monk carying gold cards...goin to approach me..i siam..

believe in what you choose to, no one has the right to tell you what to put your faith in.. it's nice of you to listen to them.. like someone mentioned, they can teach you how to fish, but it's up to you whether you want to fish or not.. just like if someone puts a chopper in your hand, it's up to you whether you want to chop or not but ah ma sure chop! 
as for the monk, there'll always be black sheeps in any community.. just have to be wise about them -

some are nice, but some are just scary.. they wont let you go no matter wat you say or how tired you are.. that's the part that puzzles me, does christianity preach about appreciation and understanding others?

wat bout appreciating others religion? christianity doesn rule the world, and some act as though they want the whole of spore to become christians, that is what's wrong.
if just spreading the word and leaving the decision to the person.. then it is definitely ok. but forcing something that you believe in upon others is definitely wrong. you dont convert pple, they will do it themselves..
believing is one, being an extremist is another thing.

I believe the reason why sg christians get sucha bad rep, taking this from both sides of the story is because while lots of us go out and talk about the Good News, we live our lives little different from the rest of the world.
Is it any surprise that the Good News only sounds like bad to those who hear it? It's a bit like the americans telling the iraqi civillians they have come to free them and the next thing a smart bomb lands in a village market...
I remember a funny thing my christian friend told me one day... it kinda went in the lines of... "If I find you all out there preaching and the next moment you scold #$%&@, I'll give you ten tight slaps." How true that sometimes it is what we all deserve. -
yeah thats why i rather be a Catholic....gonna attend the RCIA after Easter. I used to attend a Catholic school...
Christians so far do not give me a good impression...from my Christian friends and relatives. But i must say they are really deeply brainwashed that they could 'bring an microphone and go around preaching'.
my friends wise...they always like to talk abt God...aiyo so sickening.
on my dad's side, my uncle's Christianity direction made my grandma ocstracised them and refused to sit thru a house warming mass organized by my uncle. my other christian aunt ...of course sat thru the mass with the other Christian 'brothers' and 'sisters' who have attended the mass. it is a clear boundary and i really had a hard time choosing who to side...becoz both sides are my relatives. end up i chose my grandma...and could tell my uncle was feeling quite disappointed that my grandma still could not accept his choice.
my aunt moved out of my grandma hse was also coz of religious differences. she spoke of seeing 'weird things' at night and broke down when she told them she wanted to move out. so now she has a very nice Christian home...
difference in religion somewhat weakened family ties within my dad's side family...chinese new year was never as good as before. plus we've got like a few clans (vegetarian Buddhists vs Christians). Plus another uncle preaches Buddhism in places like Indonesia.
somehow it brought an anticipation to me coz probably i may face the same opposition by my buddhist parents when they hear of my plans to take up a different religion. -

I've a bad experience with such Christians too. Similarly, from the infamous church.
I already told my friendSS several times not to ask me to the church's events anymore because I will definitely turn them down each time they ask [I'm not comfortable with the way they do things]. When they first started asking, I'd turn them down politely, apologizing for my refusal and all. And then they still continued to ask me, and one even went to the extent of sounding desperate "Pleaseeeee? Please come! You will experience the love of blah blah blah blah..." Then as they asked more and more, I got more and more irritated at it. Until I have a bad impression of the church and its members.

during my sec sch days got 1 christian ger classmate kept calling me everyday to psycho me go church but i always say i not free.
then i went to another church eventually...
well, from my point of view, i dun think pple from other religions other than christianity can accept how they preach etc.
cos like some1 (i forgot who) in this forum had said,
they will suddenly shout out or cry etc...
many pple may not accept that.
for my case hor... i think i'm the new-age hiu lan teenagers...
even though i'm buddhist, i dun devote myself to the religion
(my frens frens oso dun devote themselves)
cos i'm lazy n have the dunwan-to-care attitude.
my frens called me go church on sunday morning b4...
but i rather slp or game my life away than go..
