My sound is… Anything from deep and soulful, to high energy percussive-style house music.
House music to me is… My first taste of house music was when I listened to a Masters At Work mixtape when I was about 13. From that moment on I knew that this style of music would always be a part of my life.
What’s new and hot on the dance music scene right now? I really love the sound that is coming out of Spain right now. Artist like Coyu, Uner and Edu Imbernon are smashing up the dance floors around the world with their amazing productions. Also my own productions have just been released on some record labels in England. My first release “What’s So Funny” came out last month. I hope they are going to be pretty hot too!
Vinyl or CDs? CDs are a lot easier to mix but vinyl is more fun. If I had to make a choice it would be CDs because I can carry more CDs than vinyls to a gig!
Secret weapon in record box “Wilder Side” by Rasmus Faber… it always goes down well with the crowd.
Tune that will get me moving on the dancefloor… Johan Vermeulen’s “Mbaya” (Original Mix). This is the style that I’m loving at the moment.
Most embarrassing track in my iPod… Abba’s “Angeleyes”—for some reason I love this track!
Stupidest trend in nightlife here… Sometimes people only dance to songs they know, hear and see on TV and radio. I sometimes wish people would open their minds to new tracks they have never heard. Just because we haven’t heard a song doesn’t mean it’s not good. This happens worldwide too though.
Worst experience behind the decks I got booked to play at a club at Middlesbrough in England when I was about 20 years old. What I didn’t know was that the club was owned by the local mafia. They were constantly asking me to play “rave” music (which I didn’t have) and threatened to beat me to a pulp if I didn’t play any!
