  When you are listening to some songs on your earphone e.g. The Beatles, do you notice sometimes there's different sound for Left and Right ?? e.g. One side Vocal another side Drum ..

  Its called panning , Putting sound in left/right speakers/microphones.
  Mono= is when all sound is in the centre (so clarity is effected as all instrument is in the middle , and certain sounds cant be hear.
  
  For stereo , u can hear that certain instruments are either slightly left or right and vocals are in the middle , so the entire music is much clear , as all instruments and vocals have their own space and dont cover each other up.
