Changing the pitch!

  I spent the last few minutes fiddling around with my songs, namely by changing the pitch (without increasing the tempo) with the help of a programme.
  
  I find that U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' sounds a tad nicer when sung one semitone higher. If only Bono could hit those notes. Alas, he sings it 4 semitones lower when he performs it live these days.
  
  Any contributions or comments? If you want me to tweak some other song, let me know!

  so used to listening to songs with original key...sounds so weird if i were to drop to up the key
  
  wont such programs distort the voice of the singer? eg, high pitches sounding like hamsters while low pitches sounding like vacuum.

  oh yea...i dun normally switch on the original singer voice during karaoke, usually sing on my own...

  Yes, but it's not bad if it's just one semitone's difference. The instrumentation sounds the same.
  
  Turn it up an octave for the hamster effects.

  and i do notice some songs dropping key when the chorus starts (to suit the singer's voice range) and upping the key again when the chorus ends lol. Sounds terribly weird but unique

  But it sounds so dull like that! Go higher gradually. Yeah, U2 do some songs lower but they also render it differently. And those who want to audition for Idol can take advantage.

  I haven't heard anything like that though.
