Jay chou is okay in my opinion... I don't know about now, but few years back i was impressed by his talent in making chinese RnB music... It's not easy...
His Wu Tai Mei Li (Stage charisma) is great too... I had some free tix, went to watch with my best friend... When we heard those little girls scream we were like rolling our eyes...
But when he came on stage, we screamed too... It came on naturally... I like him live in stage... But i don't like him when he's being interviewed on TV and not on moives too...
He should be admired from far....
But his songs are getting stagnant now.. maybe coz all same style... I keep skipping his songs in my bf's car... though i used to really really like him... strange... -

i figured sg and taiwan ppl copy japan's culture until bu san bu si (so messed up)
let's just say this.
english and japan music are still the best.
for chinese, haiz, act cute(rainie(even the name act cute)), act cool(jay chou(raise ur head for goodness sake, u hunchback ah? and pls cut ur hair la),
act cute can also emphasizes to boybands like 5566(stupid name), 183 club, and the recent group of trash called fei lun hai, like gang name liddat...
when listening, they sound like whispering, and its the hair that makes then nice, that's all.
they copy japan's culture in hair, and changed it into "taiwan style", which sucks...
as for the girls, same... look at the rainie's hair, go cut off la bitch. so thick use to sweep the floor la...
no wonder so many ppl wans to be hairdresser nowadays. -

I agree, I hate the Chinese pop modern music (oldies are nice) and will avoid them at all cost. They sound like crap. Put asian music to shame really. but whatever material he is churning out recently is not lasting, the type where u listen a few times then bored liao....
side note: jay chou's latest album and ep is a total let down. he needs a rest. he needs more insiration.
but i dun think he has stage charisma, i think Mayday and A mei are the only few taiwanese artistes to have stage charistma. they can really move the crowd.

many asian music has became famous worldwide, including chinese music. probably the most hyped currently is rain( i dislike him to the core though) and his world tour.(i think he toured the west) mayday and many other bands from japan toured the west too. then there is SHE's superstar, now got dunno how many language version(credit goes to song composer). Mika Nakashima's song was translated into english, chinese, ?cantonese?(not sure) Terriyaki Boyz and Dragon Ash was in the fast n furious: tokyo drift sound track, edison's song got featured in an american mag(kanye west took the cover page of that issue).... and many more... -
