Past or present, his songs are really bad. The only song that really is of quality is his latest album, qian li zhi wai. However, his past albums are still classics. Have you guys ever really listen to him? There's no 'style' that defines Jay Chou, contrary to popular belief. He has covered so many genres of music. Maybe it's the slurring that comes along with his singing but I thought that's how RnB is sang anyway. Seriously, I think anyone who produces and composes his own album should be given some credit, plus he's not some pretty boy who made it big with his looks. -

David Tao... haha, he is on a roller coaster ride. Sometimes they are nice, other times I really wonder if those are his songs.

I think Jay Chou, Lee Hom, David Tao plus many older ones like Zhou Hua Jian define what music should be. Even SHE's songs like Si Mian Chu Ge are quite meaningful if not the best.
On the other hands, I dont like boybands and cutesy girls, whether its V6 or 183 Club or Cyndi Wang and others...

Qian Li Zhi Wai is imo a fusion of Fa Ru Xue(background) and Qi Li Xiang(opening chimes). It's a typical Jay Chou number. While it's a superior song to the former two mentioned, Dong Feng Po and Ju Hua Tai (final track of Still Fantasy) are flawless and simply better than Qian Li Zhi Wai if you talk about his oriental-style of music.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Past or present, his songs are really bad. Can't compare Jacky cheung with Jay Chou.
How many Singer compose his/her own song, and how many of them sing like Jacky. We can only base on the nos. of album they sold and nos. of song hit the chart every year. Some star shine of a period of time and then they are gone, for Jacky he is a never giveup singer. Jay is a telanted song composer who kana the most critic, the more the song he composed the more ppl have things to say. When Andy just started sing, he also kana alot of criticism. Now nobody will say he is a lousy singer cos he never giveup and the more he sing the better he is. That's why Singapore cannot have many ppl like them cos can't take criticism and failure like them. -

Anyway, I feel that Qian Li Zhi Wai is much more better than Dong Feng Po or Ju Hua Tai. These 2 are really his styles, I almost fell asleep listening to it. -

While i am not a really supporter of him, some of the songs like Dong Feng Po, Hu hua Tai, are nicely done ... But rmb tt the lyrics come from Fan Wen Shan...
