Heya Guys,
i'm dying to blow my holiday job money on a major upgrade to my system.
Here's the current Specs
Celeron 366
TNT2 ultra
128 pc100 RAM
Diamond MX300
harddisk, blah blah blah
My budget's about 600-700 bucks. Thinking of doing an updrage to a AMD 750 Thunderbird
Includes
ASUS A7V (AV7?) about 250
AMD 750 about 340
Casing about 120
I think i need a power supply around 300W rite?
Also, I think my pc100 ram will work, pc133 would be nice but i'm on a limited budget.
Any advice to give me? i'm quite set on this setup, transferring all my old stuff over.

small tower or medium one?
can use old supply wat
anyway..new power box about $30 only
its a good upgrade...
your other stuff is pretty ok..
hard disk can consider getting a bigger one
since its getting cheaper...
ATA66 harddisk about $240 for 15gb -
topgun has good kang taos for video cards & RAM & etc.ask from him lor.

Kali, l need a new casing cause my casing is an AT casing... > si-bei old liao.

Ya need to change to ATX casing
AT casing cannot use liaoz
Power Supply dun need 300 w lah normally casing come with power supply liaoz
Asus mother board is good and stable.
You Thunder running on 100 bus speed or 133 bus speed?
Got to check compatible with your RAM another i think i not sure but better check it out first.
I think Display card wise wait for Nvidia Quadro 2 pro and quadro 2 MXR to release in singapore I think that is a newer display card better than GEforce GTS or 256.
So wait for it to release then buy Geforce 256
Price will drop for sure.

Suggestion would be getting the
Celeron 566A O/C 941(if I remember correctly)
can be higher, but not advisable. -$180
128 ram is actually good enough.
(If you intend to get rams, get Siemen or Mitsubishi)
Video card, hmmm not sure for the moment.
Would recommend you to buy Microstar M/B.
Cant remember the model name if you need, I'll check for you.
Soundcard, hmmm you need one?

thanks for all the feedback. Ok, here's the deal. I'm quite set on getting the AMD 750 cause i think the 3d performance is good (better than intel)
I'm not planning to o/c my system, i'm not so hardcore as that. and i dun want to run into any probs AT ALL. no hassle no fuss
Not plannign to upgrade display card. Creative TNT2 ultra is enuf for the next 5-6 months at least i think

What i DO want to get is the AMD750, ASUS A7V, Casing with PS of 300W (i heard that AMD needs higher power to be fully stable)
I think the mobo can run at 133, but i dun wanna spend another 200 bucks on ram. try out my pc100 ram, Jim (Alphabet X) thinks it should run fine. (he works/worked at AMD b4)
so.... I am QUITE set to get this system.. Any stuff i failed to think of? or any big news you go tto warn me/advise me? i think i wanna get it befor this week is over >
