Gerald Giam has more experience in parliament than the PAP candidate.
Gerald Giam is a political guy, the PAP candidate is not a political guy.

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has proposed to The Workers' Party (WP) to run a joint campaign in the Punggol East by-election.Good that WP snub them. This CSJ cannot be trusted. Remember what he did to Chiam See Tong!
So this by election more exciting than hg by election?

Hg nothing much, here a little more commotion.
Since when is living in a HDB flat a criteria for voting your MP ???
He join the party 3 weeks ago.
What happened to the future generation of leaders that the boss mentioned to be grooming ?
Or they never planned better again ?

3 week...enough time to screen?

Only in sinking candidates are given 3 weeks , short time to prepare for election.
damn the bloody shitty pay and pay.
WP made the right choice in turning down the proposal. What kind of idiotic proposal is this..... WP does the work on the ground, while SDP is the face of Punggol East in parliament? Dafug?
WP was being too nice in rebuffing them gently. I'd have simply flipped them off.

all the jokers fighting.

The Workers' Party is set to announce its candidate for the Punggol East by-election on Monday morning.
It sent out an invite on Sunday for a press conference at its party headquarters at 11am tomorrow. The invite simply stated that it would be making an "announcement".
Sources had previously indicated that the party would most likely reveal its final decision on which candidate to field on Monday.
News of the press conference is the first sign of by-election activity from the Workers' party all weekend. The party is the only one still in the mix who is not known to have been out and about in Punggol East since the writ of election was issued on Wednesday.
It has also kept tight-lipped about who it might be introducing as a candidate on Monday, although Non-Constituency MP Gerald Giam remains the frontrunner.

All those old timers probably not happy after serving for so many years.
I also notice, they don't look for their own youth wing people.

i can see why

Last time quite a few from the youth wing.
Now hardly.
I wonder why.
This will be the election theme song from now on...
But of course the part that says "meadows of France"has to be changed to Sg context. :D
ppl should sing this on polling day. LOL
My feel of the situation is that SDP has screwed up so badly that they have lost quite a bit of their support.
For one thing, TR Emeritus appears to have changed their pro-SDP stance by launching an all-out attack against this harebrained scheme of theirs.
It's the same elsewhere..... apart from a few posts defending the SDP, everyone else is pretty much whacking them to kingdom come for having this 'brilliant' idea.

i'd leave some ammo to blast the Retarded Party headed by JBJ's son who boasted that they approached WP with the same stupid idea before CSJ did...
what the hell kind of mind and IQ decreasing drugs are these assholes smoking in large quantities?

Good to hear that TRE seem to have woken up their idea. This proposal has dented SDP's credibility even further - if they had any in the last 15 years.
Woohoo.

WP silence has dented the confidence of opp supporters. With scrapping the barrel, I don't see a win here.
No hope.
