How will voting in the opposition weaken the government? The role of the government is to create and implement policies to benefit the people and progress the country. If policies are not well debated, how will the government know if they will be beneficial and to whom will the policies be beneficial to? A policy drafted from a different perspective might be more advantageous. As such, having opposition opnions in parliament will provide a more rounded constructive contribution to this process. Having opposition in parliament is therefore an improvement to the system. It will strengthen the government and not weaken it. The only time having opposition in parliament will weaken governance is if the oppositions are incompetent people. As we can see from their speeches and debates, they are a competent group of people.

EDUCATION Minister Ng Eng Hen on Saturday cautioned Singaporeans that by voting for the opposition, they may unintentionally weaken the Government and perhaps even cause a change in Government.
He urged voters to realise this because 'freak results' can happen, as they have in other countries.
Speaking during a walkabout in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC on Saturday morning, he said the system already allows for alternative voices in Parliament.
If Singaporeans go to the May 7 polls thinking that more opposition would help further their interests, the outcome could be 'dangerous', warned Dr Ng.
'Can a weak government deliver to him better transportation, better homes, better healthcare? And if you vote just to weaken the government, how can that help you, your own interests?' he added.
Instead of offering what they will do to serve the people well after the election this arrogant toad is threatening nation. Hen together with all his counterparts are now reacting to show their fear and dissatisfaction with the oppositions by not offering any concrete plan to offer the nation. HOPeless!
Vote out the PAP!
