Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says next year’s Budget could bring more “good news” as government revenues have been better than expected.
Speaking at the People’s Action Party’s conference held at the NUS Cultural Centre, Mr Lee said the government will use the country’s strong growth for 2010 to improve the lives of Singaporeans.
This, he said, would take the shape of building affordable homes, upgrading housing estates and strengthening the social safety nets.
Mr Lee, who is the Secretary-General of the ruling party, made the points in a speech he gave called “Singapore our home, our future together.”
He also told an audience of over 1,700 party cadres and activists that the less skilled, the poor and especially the elderly would not be left behind and that they too would benefit Singapore’s prosperity.
The Singapore Budget is usually announced in February.
Mr Lee also hinted that the next General Election will be held by the next PAP party conference, which is usually held once in two years, usually in November.
Mr Lee also said he was confident the PAP would be ready to present a talented slate of candidates when the Election was called.
These candidates, who will be made of branch activists, members from the Young PAP and the women’s wing as well as young unionists, will form the nucleus of the next generation of leaders.
PM Lee said: “We have good growth; we have good plans and that is what we should be going into the election for — to mobilise people to support these plans and support the team which has brought this growth to them.
“We must induct new candidates with the potential to become ministers. And the new ones whom we will bring in at the next election, they will have to settle who will be the next leader whom they will work with and support, and will take them and Singapore forward. It’s an absolutely serious matter.”
Wanna guess the goodies? Haha...

No thanks, they will ask it back later. Singtel was given , Singtel was taken back.
Fake.
PS: All those losses, TH is worth? Insufficient S eleven to give away .
My goodies wish from pap:
1) PUB year round deduction.
2) T and C charges be lowered.
3) Home Property tax be lowered.
4) Radio and TC licence be lowered.
I only want to hear a goodie news from PAP or I will vote for opposition
1. Housing prices to drop back to the prices in the 1980s
Exempt property tax for one owner occupied property, subsequent properties tax at increasing rate of taxes.
I don't think they will ever propose such a measure because the Lees owns lots of properties.
Also the hbd flats scrape 99 yr lease, should convert to freehold.
Pls dun give goodies la......something's sure to go up after elections. NO PLS.

Dont be naive. Give out $300 take back $3000.
The more "goodies" they give you, the more they will take it back after the elections.
Be prepared to give your shirt and pants to them soon.
enough of give and take more.
