SINGAPORE : Minister
of State for the Environment and Water Resources, Amy Khor, has said
she is ready to contest either in a Single Member Constituency (SMC) or a
Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the next General Election,
and it is up to the prime minister and party leaders to decide.
Speaking
at a National Environment Agency event, she said competition is healthy
for Singapore's political landscape.
Dr Khor said: "I welcome a
contest. I think it's good for the political development of Singapore.
Also, I think it's good for the residents. They get to exercise their
choice and in fact through a contest, residents get to know the
candidates better, get to know what the parties stand for.
"I
stand ready to contest (in a) GRC or SMC, but that really is the
prerogative of the prime minister and party leaders. Exactly where I
will be fielded also is their prerogative.
"But I suppose what I
would like to say is as Mayor of the South West district, I think I do
have a good feel of the ground - not just in my constituency in the GRC
but also in the district because we do serve residents throughout the
district in terms of either social assistance and employment assistance
and even community bonding."

She's very down to earth MPs.
But Amy also nice lady.
And she's very confident that she can win if she goes for SMEs.

LOL... you sound like u want her to be her other half.
Sound like virus.
Every one trying to be hero and say "Me ! Me ! Me !"
Better do a proper assessment before they dive.
Or else it will be their last dive.
I beseech everyone to think twice about voting for the PAPist just because of a few nice individuals, what have they promise to do once elected? Did they address any of the concerns that citizens are facing and professed to even try and solve anything? Will their paymaster let them restrict underserving foreigners from coming, will they reduce the number of ERP gantries, will they let 55 years old aunties and uncles withdraw their CPF in full? Just what will they do if elected?
What we are aiming to do is to take down the PAPist entire machinery, if you let in even a few, we can expect more difficult times ahead of us. They can be nice but if their paymaster steps on them, $17,000 a month for doing nothing in parliament and falling asleep is alot of money to lose, do you think they will go against their paymaster? I don't think so.
Vote not because of them, but vote for the good of all citizens and for the future of all our young, let not our future youths' dreams wilt, let our future fly on, higher and more steadfast long after our generation have passed.
