Actually this is good news to the opposition, the longer PAP delays the election mean the opposition will have time to do more walkabout and get more residents to know them. -
Ya, to make them have no time to prepare for ground works and paper works (submitting forms and so on), and all those required times and efforts too. And in the end, all messy with disagreement among the internal staff.

With the delay, opposition parties can recruit more volunteers to do these tasks. I'm sure they are already prepared for all these already and will not be caught off guard again. -
if they delay till 2012, it's only to the opposition's advantage. They will have worked the ground thoroughly by then. So me thinks it will be held during december holidays.

They might wait until after next year's budget is announced. "pre-elections" special budget to set the stage for elections.
