National Solidarity Party plans to field some 30 candidates in next GE

SINGAPORE : The National Solidarity Party (NSP) plans to field
some 30 candidates in the next general election, to be held before
February 2012.
This is an increase from the 12 candidates NSP fielded in the last
elections.
At a news conference on Saturday, the opposition party hinted it is
looking at contesting in the Tampines and Jalan Besar GRCs.
The party also revealed two potential candidates to contest in the
upcoming elections.
A Malay Bureau was launched as well. NSP said the formation of its Malay
Bureau will help achieve its aim of sending the party's first Malay
candidate into Parliament, whether as an MP or Non-Constituency MP.
National Solidarity Party's secretary-general Goh Meng Seng said: "For
our party, we are prepared to give priority to the Malay candidates to
walk into Parliament, to raise issues not only on the Malay community,
but also Singapore (issues).
"We have the trust in our Malay candidates to do so because they are not
radical, they are open-minded Malay professionals."
Zulkifli Baharudin, a political observer and former Nominated Member of
Parliament, said: "If indeed this is an indication of more and more
Singaporeans who want to be part of the opposition, to participate in
elections and to devote their lives to be the alternative to the PAP
(People's Action Party), to improve the lives of the people, and to
offer Singaporeans more choices in the coming elections, then I think it
is a positive development.
"But if it is only because they feel that even if they lose the
elections, there are more places for them to be NCMPs, then I do not
think that is the right motivation in politics."

Are you sure they drive the cars themselves?
With so much $, they can afford to hire drivers.

My bad.
NSP doesnt look very solid. This GMS is always posting in sammyboy and he gets into petty fights with forumites.
Agree with Rock^Star. He looks more like an opportunist.... and doesnt talk too well too....
Sometimes GMS comments sound weird. Especially his "Sell HDB flat to contest in elections"..... -_-"
If you cant afford $20,000, and shirk your responsibilities as a father and husband to have a home for your family ... u sure u can be the MP of a GRC or SMC?

charlize is asking you to look at RP and SPP instead of NSP.

Save the money ---> more walkovers.
NSP unlikely to have lost their deposits, unless they 3 corner fight.
yes, unlikely anyone will lose deposit unless 3 corner fight.

Before nomination day, every opposition parties will come together and hold a meeting to announce where they will fight PAP, to avoid having a 3 corner fight.
