  There are 3 other countries in the world have GRC as well (Just they dont call it GRC or there is no english name??). They are Cameroon, Chad and Djibouti and I loved Djibouti the most because out of their 65 seats, all constituency ranged between 4 seats to 37 seats. (Wa lau eh, is 37 ho, maybe we can all it a "East GRC" if that ever happen in Singapore?)

   

  AFAIK, based on Wikipedia, Singapore seemed to learn from either of this 3 (It does not seemed that this is a Singapore invented style at all)
  
  PS: In case you wonder where are these countries, they all are at Africa, no exception, with GDP per capital of $1224, $863 and $1252 while Singapore has $38972 (All based on Nominal)

   

  I wonder why dont Singapore consider North Korea's style (They do have elections as well) such that it is an empty or marked with a pen. (If you mark anything on the ballot paper, you mean you reject the communist party' list of candidate in your consitutency. This way, neither Low or Chiam etc can ever make it because it will be Eric and Sitoh to be listed instead)

  No sir, it should be 86 in 2011 GE (Based on predictions) or 84 (Current, likely to be changed)

  Erm, excuse me, maybe my suggestion of "East GRC" should be renamed to "Singapore GRC" compromises 56.92% of the total seats (48 seats GRC, based on round down to nearest integer, in average of 85 seats -- current 84, minimally predicted is 86 at next GE)

   

  This is because Djibouti has 5 multi-member districts ranged from 4 - 37 seats out of 65 total seats (Based on population, similar eh) and the all the electoral districts are called,
  
  Ali Sabih, Dikhil, Djibouti, Obock, Tadjoura.

   

  In case anyone who don't know it well, at least you can tell which is the 37 seats one la ho.
