moralities. It is further a failure of intellect in its simplicity: Religious morality is,
more often than not, devoid of all complexity, seeing the world in stark binary
terms. There are no difficult moral questions or conundrums, because all is obvious.
I like to think of this as a perceived “moral clarity”.

To me, Religion gives people a sense of security.
Like how they are being loved by a mighty being. How they are making up for their misdeeds.
If it gives them the reason to carry on living and smile for tomorrow. Why not?
Religions do not fail. People fail the Religion. -

It's a false sense of security. It's not valid and cannot be applied in the complex world we live in. For instance, 33% of Singaporeans actually believe we weren't evolved from apes. for this, i do not have a stand, and that is mainly because i do not have a religion.
Talking about religion as a failure, i have never trusted any religion although im still open to religions if "God"' is proven.
But religions as a whole are successful, just look at how many people have religions statistically. -

religion IMO are just some guideline set by the forefathers.
Because of their extra-ordinary acts, in order to remember them, these people who are around these "holy" people worship them as an idol.
and this passes down generations to generations.
I believe people in the olden days do not have a "direction", so writings were so called invented, these acts/teachings were recorded and pass to us.
Due to simplicity of life back then, and limitation of movement to far places, people are not very exposed and abide by the teaching of the "great one".
Nowadays, there are a lot of temptation which sub-consciously made us engaged in sins that we do not know.
i think that's all i can write atm.. need sleep..

the capacity to look for everything and anything to blame for one's own failings is unlimited in humans...
religion teaches one to love their neighbour... and when humanity wages war for their own selfish political agenda using and abusing religion as an excuse, the easy way out for everyone is to blame the religion without even superficially figuring out that it was the asswipe who used religion as a tool who was to blame...
i would say that humanity failed religion rather than the other way around...
the path to divinity is long and hard.. no one said it'll be easy..
but humans, tend to want immediate gratification... and there, we fail.. -

In order to debate properly you have to define what constitutes success and what constitutes failure.
Is having a large membership success?
Or maybe you are saying that Religion is for Failures.
