SHE has a knack for winning things. She won SPH MediaWork's Channel U talent contest Route To Glamour in 2001, before defecting to MediaCorp less than a year later.
Her star rose rapidly in her new home. She was voted the Star Award's Best Newcomer in 2002 and one of the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes in 2003.
In person, the soft-spoken actress is the picture of unaffected sweetness.
Aw herself is aware of this gift of endearing heself to the audience. She says: "I entered this business because of my passion for acting. After acting as Mo Jing Jing in Holland V, people would call out my character's name when they saw me in public. This kind of recognition is better than any award."
The Theatre Studies graduate from the National University of Singapore is serous about honing her craft. One of her favourite roles was in A Child's Hope II, where she played a social worker struck with a terminal disease. The drama series aired in Jne this year, so-starred Li nanxing.
