Mario Party DS is a video game for the Nintendo DS. It is the eleventh title in the series (twelfth in Japan), and was released in Japan on November 8, 2007 and in North America on November 19, 2007, in Europe the game will be released on November 23, 2007, and in Australia it will come out on December 6, 2007.Playing the japanese version now, which I do not understand. One of the mini-games is something like monopoly. I like this game!
As with most Mario Party games, an emphasis will be put on the game's multiplayer aspect. A new element to the series is the use of the Download Play functionality of the Nintendo DS to allow four people to play wirelessly using only one game card. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Princess Daisy, Toad, Wario and Waluigi are playable characters .
Modes
* Story Mode: A single player must defeat the CPUs in several boards.
* Party Mode: Up to four players play a game on a chosen board.
* Mini-game Mode: The player plays mini-games in which they have unlocked.
* Puzzle Mode: The player plays one of five Mario-themed puzzle games.
Mario Party DS can be played among four players over DS Wireless Play or DS Download Play. Although originally advertised to have online play via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on boxart at Game Stop, the game does not have Wi-Fi play.
Mini-Games
There will be a variety of mini-games throughout the game. From sources revealed, some involve trying to dodge football balls being kicked at you by a giant Goomba. One involves sliding down a wooden banister and another involves blowing out candle flames to try to win a race. Other minigames include knocking down a Thwomp with water guns and strangling Goombas.
According to official sources, over 70 mini-games can be unlocked by playing the story and party modes.
