  BUAYA

  Malay for “crocodile”. Means “lothario” or wolf, i.e. sleazy pick-up artist. May also be used as a verb.
  1. “Johnny’s after Jane, even though he’s supposed to be with Jenny. What a chao buaya.”

  our local hokkien not pure.  it includes malay words.   till now I dunno how to say soap in hokkien.

  Even if you go to Taiwan, soap would be pronounced as "Sabun". The term "Sabun" is actually Malay for Soap, some how this term is heavily propagated to even Taiwan.

  Other terms that were originally malay or english but translated for use in Hokkien are :

  Mata (Police)

  Goli (Glass Marble)

  Suka (Like)

  Tapi (But)

  Balu (New, Spell as "Baru" in Malay)

  Loti (Bread, Spelt as "Roti" in malay)

  Jamban (Toilet, actually toilet bowl in malay)

  Bulek (Brake, Translated from english)

  Pump (Pump, Translated from english)

  Par (Park, Translated from english)

  Please refer to my post above, sap boon or sabun, which is the actual spelling, is derived from Malay. Till now, I have not found anyone in SG who can give me the original term for soap in hokkien.

  You can google this actually if you dun already know. All buayas are rather knowledgable, it is a basic requirement. And I learn this from the Malay and indonesian Chinese Exs I had.
