Well, I think there are several reasons for this. If at any point anyone disagrees with what I say or has a differing opinion, please voice it out. This is after all, a discussion.
One of them is societal norms. From young we are taught that guys should play with trucks and cars, and girls should play with barbie dolls. This sort of societal rules in grained with us, also teach us that pink, is in fact a girl's color.
This results in us having a set perception that guys should not wear pink, take dancing classes or do art, but the changing trends in society and guys that have defied these stereotypes with the metrosexual age also are slowly eroding these norms or set traditions, but as with many things... it takes time for it to happen.
The second is the color itself.Pink screams "LOOK AT ME! I'M DIFFERENT!" . It's a very striking color. Most of us would like to conform to a certain set of standards, to be accepted and part of the group, rather than to stand out and face the possibility of being shot down. This was the reason why I initially did not join the forum as well. I was kind of worried people would think I was a stuck up caucasian for posting like this when most people were posting in singlish and one liners. I ws worried I would not be accepted because I was different. Likewise, I believe what applies to me, also applies to other people.
Finally, not all colors suit people and can be worn by everyone. They always say that if you have fair skin, you should avoid overly light colours if I remember correctly, likewise with dark skin. That's the same with pink. You need a certain build and the muscular, or rather well built, rather than skinny as a stick build to pull it off without looking effiminate or as what you guys would say..."niang-niang-qiang".
That's my two cents on this topic.
some thinks pink are fashionable
some thinks pink are gay
:D
it depends on the shade of pink we're talking about.if it is a light tone of pink,i'm fine with it,but if it's like hot pink and stuff,no thanks.
i got friends who got the slightest of pink on their t shirt and they couldnt stand it
haha
