Total Defence Day (Chinese: 全�防�日) is celebrated annually on February 15 in Singapore to commemorate the anniversary of the surrender of the British to the Japanese on February 15, 1942, precursoring 3 years and 8 months of Japanese Occupation.

Sook Ching was later extended to include Chinese Malayans. The massacre took place from February 18 to March 4 1942 at various places.
The term Sook Ching (肅清) is a Chinese word meaning "a purge through cleansing". At the time, the Japanese also described the massacre as such (it was referred to as the Kaky�shukusei (�僑粛清), or "purging of Chinese"). The Japanese also referred to it as the Shingap�ru Daikensh� (シンガ�ール大検証), lit. "great inspection of Singapore".

No. but that time it did The Japanese kill alot of innocent people and the Amercian wan to end the War quickly so they use this two bombs... but now United Nations has banned the Atomic Bomb from using lia0

i think generally war needs to be avoided to the maximum extent else a lot of innocent lives would be killed and also usually those who hurts the most is the families of those innocent people who are killed.

the reason why American used the two bombs is not to end the War quickly but to test the bombs.
