cant remember paiseh,
we went there asking around a few local pple for some places, but its not that far (within walking distance) from the shenzhen's MTR station linking from hong kong.
and be careful... very skillful pickpockets hunting tourists near the MTR station..
why not come to guangzhou as well?
in june 30 to july 2, you can visit 7th hosfair in guangzhou .
i'd been to hong kong & shenzhen a couple of times, but more so shenzhen.
for SZ, i don't think u need more than 2 days.
here r my recommendations for SZ:
1. 罗湖商业城 Lo Wu Commercial City (near customs from Hong kong), for sports & leather goods & all things fake & loads of other stuff. (Tourist spot; Must haggle)
2. 东门 Dong Men Market at Hu Bei Lu. Hong Kongers like to frequent this place for cute accessories & stationery. There's a 街 for strolling along, with restaurants abound. Watch out for pickpockets tho.
3. 强北 Hua Qiang Bei for electronics, mobiles & computer stuff. 女人街Ladies' street is just nearby where u can get ladies' accessories & clothing. Locals like to shop here. The local chinese restaurant 民间瓦缸贯汤 nearby at 路北 serves good chinese dishes & soup below 200Rmb for 4 persons. There's also a Ajisen Ramen on the main street & a 绿野仙综 (HK tea & bubble tea chain) at a side street. U should ask for directions.
4. i love the 肥羊 steamboat restaurant, a famous Chinese chain with 2 shops at Luo Hu & many other places. Maybe u can ask the cab drivers.
5. I visited the Windows of the World but would not recommend it as it's not such a big deal: just miniature replicas of some of the famous structures around the world. It's more of a garden experience. Moreover, tickets' exp. But if u really got nothing to do, can also visit.
Please always look out for pickpockets. Be wary of anyone coming too close.
I almost always get fake Rmb change from cab drivers & shopowners. Always check the Rmb change that u get that is in 20s & 50sRmb. A real note should not feel smooth as u sliding ur fingers over it. Also, check agt the light to look for face of Mao. The largest denomination is 100Rmb.
Have a good trip
