There are current;y 8 SDA churches in singapore.
Jurong English (mine)
Jurong Chinese
Thompson Chinese
The ARK (woodlands)
Maranatha (Dunman)
Community Church (Thompson)
Chuan Ho (Yio Chu Kang)
Balestier
Services start at 9.30am every Saturday morning.
You might one to choose carefully though as each church is different.
I recommed Jurong English as its more youth friendly.
Ark is more for old or crippled people.
And Chuan Ho is more for families. -

Wassup, wassup! I believe i'm the first cell 2 member after Shaun to post! Thank you Shaun for creating the forum, hopefully we can get more cell 2 members to come here and post.
SDA church is one of the largest organised churches in the world, yes. Number 2 after the Catholic church, i believe. We're a worldwide church, with churches in every continent and almost every country. So in that sense, you could say we have alot of money comming in.
But, we have alot of money going out all over the world as well, to churches in africa or china which don't have money. Individual churches, like our Jurong church, definitely aren't very rich! haha...
Perhaps you'd like to drop down for a visit one day, eh? We'll definitely welcome you! -

This is not written as a challenge to your post, but as a push towards factual accuracy.
Also, in my opinion, it is rather needless to state the wealth of your church - this is not a factor in the worship of God.
Most orthodox churches are also worldwide churches, many of such churches are extremely organised. -

And other shurches might not have as much money simply because they act as independent cells rather than many cells combined together. We are the 2nd largest combined church. Churches such as the methodists do not operate under unions and conferences such as our church. And as for the money, we state this fact so that prospective members are not worried where their money is going to. For your info, most of the money goes to the less fortunate churches and to the many non-profit organisations and charaties all over the world that help others. Such as ADRA. Go wikipedia that and see for yourself. I agree with most of what you said, however you should check our worldwide church website. It'll show you the structure of our overall church. Just for your information.

For your information, the Methodist church do operate under conferences and district. There are 3 conferences in Singapore alone. There is a Bishop in each country, and the Methodist church are meticulous about how the individual church is run and the appointment of the local pastor is by the conference. .... at the end of it all, my point is: it is not necessarily to state the size of your church or what wealth it has. Such statements are whimsical at best and callous at it's worst. It makes the writer extremely snooty which may not have been the intention at all.

If you're not out to compare churches, why post that in the first place? You are the one bringing it up. I'm mearly defending my cell leader.
Anyway, it doesn't matter because what's most important is that we all worship the same GOD and that's all that counts
