Actually i was thinking & many of my atheistic friends r thinking, was it self fulfilling prophecies? Meaning people cause their own doom so to speak? Could history have been changed if Jesus wasnt crucified & the Jews heeded the call of God & received Him with open arms? Need Jesus be crucified? Need the Jews be slaughtered & the temple burned to the ground if they had accepted Jesus as a nation? So many questions.Originally posted by happyharvest:I think the 'Black Death' was a sign. God bless.
I would welcome views from Nostradamus' fans to be put here. I also read a bit about his prophecies. Could be true but who or what is the source of his inspiration? I heard he got it from occultic sources. A voice spoke to him but who was it? Maybe someone could explain here.Originally posted by maggot:The advertisement of the left right now nice
If he gives the correct name and people kill that person first then wouldn't the rest of his prophecies changes due to no WWII?Originally posted by iveco:Nostradamus accurately predicted WWII. The only part he got wrong was the German dictator's name.
I am sorry but after i went to the ad abt the book, i dont agree with Nostradamus as a true prophet of God according to the Bible. Bcos Jesus wasnt mentioned. Instead a Great Genius is mentioned. It's all New Age stuff. I have been there before. Reducing God to a Great Genius(prob advanced human being) & communication with aliens? I wonder is the bible more ludicrious or is he more ludicrious? This is a setup man. Who are these beings or aliens? Satan can masquerade as an angel of light u know. So we have to be careful. If people can believe Nostradamus, they will have no prob believing the prophets of old in the bible. Cos they also saw angels, visions, heard voices, had dreams & even John who saw Christ & glory of God in heaven!Originally posted by maggot:Almost all the religions in the world will be destroyed...but are the world prepared for that?
A voice? normally everybody will thinks he's mad
But since his prophecies mostly came true but not at the correct timings...
This voice could be a being that can really see into the future...
Occult har? Such beings usually stays at their place unless called for or there is a task for them to prevent some important persons been destroyed
I actually asked a similar questions too and get some of the comments. Maybe you want to take a look:Originally posted by John The Baptist:Actually i was thinking & many of my atheistic friends r thinking, was it self fulfilling prophecies? Then who's going to pay for our sins? That's why i believe all God's will & man has no say at all. Predestiny & election of God. Total depravity of men. Grace to be given by God alone. We can't save ourselves bcos all under influence of satan & sin. In a way i support Calvinism but still many questions on my mind & only if i can go to heaven one day then can be answered. I pray I won't end up in hell. May God give me the grace to escape hell & same to you.
Yes, a 1000 yrs is but one day to God & a day in heaven is but a 1000 yrs on earth. But i cant comprehend. It's beyond my mind. Can go bonkers you know. I wonder what will Einstein say if he is alive now? He was the first person to "travel on a light beam" so to speak. He had always been my idol from young until i found Christ. God bless u.
Somebody said that all the prophecies about Christ were fulfilled by Jesus.and
- I wonder how He gambled over His clothes as He was nailed to the Cross.
Somebody said that while a double negative in the English language means a positive; there was no instance of a double positive expression in the English language that could mean a negative.
- Yeah, right.
You asked an honest question and are seeking clarification. Maybe you could restate your question, so it could be answered more clearly. Am I correct to assume that your question is whether or not man makes prophecies come to pass? If so, then the answer is yes in the sense that man is fulfilling God's plan. God has spoken in His word what will come to pass, and since God is sovreign (all powerfull, knowing, ever present) He forknew what man was going to do. Biblical prophecies are 100% accurate and Jesus alone fulfilled over 300 of them.and
Other religions have no prophecies, they have mere conjectures. Satan can kind of take a good guess what man might do in any given situation, since he has observed us for so many years. Based upon those observations he makes predictions, which can be obtained by visiting psychics and other assorted flase prophets. Nostradamus comes to mind, who is highly regarded nowadays, but nevertheless was a false prophet. Also keep in mind that Satan knows God's word better than we do, so he gives his own little spin to some future events and the world goes AHH!
At the time of Jesus life here on earth, there was no general literacy and books were not readily available. As a matter of fact, there were no books, but scrolls and these were only accessible to the very rich and the religious elite. The last thing the Sanhedrin wanted to do was fulfill prophecy. By killing Jesus, they thought they had won the victory and silenced the dissenter. Instead, they had fullfilled Gods prophecies to the last jot and tittle. Read Isaiah 53, it was written long before the Lord Jesus came to this earth as a man. The Sanhedrin (religious rulers of Israel) Knew these scriptures, but failed to understand what they were reading. They were not of God, but of their father the devil, as Jesus accused them. I hope I answered at least part of your question. If I missed your point please let me know. God bless!
The answer to this question in the context meaning "could someone have set out to self fulfill prophecy" the answer would be no, too many years (100's to 1000's) are usually between each prophecy. The prophecy in Ezekiel 26 showing that Israel would once again come into the land was prophesied in Ezekiel and also in Jeremiah. These prophecies would have been made before the birth of Christ yet were fulfilled in 1948. Many prophetic events prophesied in the Bible are today coming true and I do believe that we are in the last days before the rapture, tribulation and then the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have any doubts, you can go to other christians forums that have mature and friendly christians who can seriously and wisely comment on your doubts.
If the context of "Self-Fulfilling" meaning is it fulfilling itself as stated, that answer would be a whole hearted yes. The Bible has withstood critics and criticism for many years yet has held its ground as complete "truth."
What the Holy Spirit can do, the evil spirit also can do. The only difference is the fruits. And since the Holy Spirit is also God, what the evil spirit cannot do, the Holy Spirit can do. Man who are of the devil can prophesied all they want but they are never from God. Blessed are those who do not follow them.Originally posted by maggot:Almost all the religions in the world will be destroyed...but are the world prepared for that?

Ok thank you for your replies. I mean the argument is great. I did go to some other forums by Americans. Yes, i agree bcos in Exodus, the magicians of pharoah could duplicate Moses' miracles & plagues to a certain degree until they couldnt do it anymore & they had to exclaim that this was the finger of God to pharoah.Originally posted by happyharvest:What the Holy Spirit can do, the evil spirit also can do. (laughing and smiling) You really like to read a lot on end times stuffs. I think ppl should go take a look at the website as well as the forum there. I went to the apostasy section & lo, so many truths i learn. The church really in a mess man, even in US! & thousands of believers & non believers are being misled thru deceptive doctrines. One such doctrine is Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life 40 Day series to grow a church into a megachurch.
I have also have a good website here for everyone who might be interested. It is at: http://www.bereanbeacon.org/ It is by a former catholic priest on catholics & evangelicals. He is the one who said Rick Warren is in error & thousands r deceived even pastors! May God have mercy on us & help us!

I remember the first sign of the staff turning into a snake. I think Moses' snake ate up the rest of the snakes by the magicians, am i correct? Or did i get it wrong? Pls help.
Ya, I heard that too. Hopefully Rick warren is not here to deceive us. I love his books too but whether if it is biblically correct, I have to study it seriously.Originally posted by John The Baptist:I have also have a good website here for everyone who might be interested. I dont know why but maybe my outlook is more fatalistic. Or maybe i was influenced as a young believer in eschatology. Or maybe bcos i was involved in the occult so i tend towards the prophetic & supernatural. Or maybe this is my calling. Or maybe i was looking forward to the second coming of Christ.Originally posted by happyharvest:(laughing and smiling) You really like to read a lot on end times stuffs. Let me introduce you to this fourm: http://forums.crosswalk.com/. There is another of my favourite forum which I love to visit.
He is here already in spirit! I find his books everywhere, in MPH, Life bookstores, & many other bkstores. Some friends even borrowed the book from library! & he is teaching many pastors in 3rd world countries. I wonder whether our megachurches affected?Originally posted by happyharvest:Ya, I heard that too. Hopefully Rick warren is not here to deceive us. [HH: Are you really involved in an occult in the past? Good for you if you are not now. I also see other christian in the U.S. who in the past were involved in occult or things like that. But God is faithful to them and they have recevied God's gift now. May God continue to bless you.]
Actually i always thot that Christians should look forward to His coming again. W/c is why many r not watching now or got distracted by worldly things. I am not saying live like a hermit or monk but sometimes i feel that being sanctified ppl w/c means separated ppl, we have no part with the world & the world will definitely persecute us in big or small ways. This is not heaven. This is not the new earth. Like Paul, we should groan tog w creation for the redemption of our bodies & the glorious revealing of the true sons of God. I believe many r groaning now even earth is groaning. The Holy Spirit is groaning.
[HH: Ya, Christians should look forward to His coming again but not to the extent of trying to interpret every world event as a sign God has given us. To be a Christian, we should learn live like a Christians in a Christ-like manner so that in us, the world, your non-believer friends can see Him. We are supposed to be the salt and light of the world. So try to live like that. Btw, I can't feel any love from christians in a particular forum. I am quite disappointed. So sad, they have too much pride (perhaps spiritual pride)to get in their way to show that God first love us. What I see here is often condemning and critisicisms. There is Very Often negative comments than positive comments. I'm wondering is this what they learn by being a christian?
Anyway, I have got this comment from a forum, so I just share with you here:
"For many Christians it's because they have put their faith in what they believe rather than in the person of Jesus Christ and they must debate to defend what they believe so they can believe they are right and be comfortable in that belief."]
I see so much suffering in the world. So much bloodshed. Cant help but be interested in end times bcos so close now. Look what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:29-31: "But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away."
[HH:If you interested in end times thingy, go to other forum but not this sgforums. People here are either quite reluntant to say about it or they are totally ignorant about it and think that they are always right to the exent of abusing their comments. In other forums, even if they rebuke you, very often they rebuke nicely and in a way not to put you down. But there may be some people (not very usual actually) like here who will, well, you know....]
Tks for the forum.
I know some of the traditional churches use his book to teach the church. My church (for the english side ... ) was one of them much earlier. Now, I think they didn't use it. Anway, we shouldn't assume that he is the antichrist or whatever. He still believe in Christ and I still think his book quite helpful in some way. It is too early to speculate now.... Btw, his chruch ranks the top for being the most influential church in U.S.Originally posted by John The Baptist:He is here already in spirit! Yes, i was involved as a young child & many of these harry potter thing etc are very dangerous. Ppl with weak minds or easily influenced will be overcome & might even start dabbling in occult themselves. I advise certain ppl not to read these bks bcos they might be hooked. Just the same as p0rn etc. Why so many drug addicts? Why some easily influenced & cant get out while others could? I hate it when some groups of ppl say it's ok for kids when they dont even know what they're talking abt or maybe they know but purposely suppress the truth to destroy young minds? I am not involved now. Thk God for His grace.Originally posted by happyharvest:[HH: Are you really involved in an occult in the past? Good for you if you are not now. I'm wondering is this what they learn by being a christian? Not many Christians living like Christians anyway in S'pore. & i am not saying i m holy man. We have our faults but some ppl just too much. Bcos when we lose sight of Jesus' second coming, we lose focus on God & live for ourselves. His 2nd coming is very impt to Christian doctrine & faith. Bcos when a Christian has no hope of resurrection, he will live like a demon & refuse to share gospel or love to others. Bcos all me, mine, myself first. Kiasuism & kiasism. Bcos no 2nd coming what to them! No judgement. No hell. No heaven. No accountability for unsaved frens & relatives. No God! Even Christ Jesus said in a parable abt certain servants who starts to get drunk & beat up other servants bcos they thought the master isnt coming yet soon. So what did Jesus the Master say when He comes back to find these servants doing such things? Pls read for yourself in the gospel We know what happens. Many churches dont dare to preach such sermons bcos they will get "flames" & lose "customers"!

So rebukes will happen but like what u say it's the tone that matters. Bcos i remember Aesop's fables abt persuasion is better than force. Bcos the harder (the wind) u force the more the man wont take off his coat. So the sun (or Son) has to shine & then the man will take off his coat!
Well, certain english satanic elements try to subvert the church to do their bidding. All for one world govt, one world religion, New World Order. So be careful what ppl say to u. Rick could just be misled like Bush. But who can tell? Only God knows our innermost motives. Being number 1 always goes to someone's head. I pray that he wont become too proud like the devil!Originally posted by happyharvest:I know some of the traditional churches use his book to teach the church. Very likely but nobody can tell exactly what will happen.
