2006:The year of the beginning of the end?

Is 2006 the year of the beginning of the end? Could some great thing be happening that will usher in the final Great Tribulation? Could Syria be destroyed? Could Gog & Magog & the middle east be embroiled in a big scale war where Israel will be outnumbered again but God will come to the rescue? Could true Christians have been raptured up already? Could the Antichrist then appear & sign a peace treaty with Israel after God has destroyed the Gog/Magog armies? Could US have been nuked already?
2006: The definitive year. Even a secular Michael Drosnin in Bible Code 2 predicts 2006-the beginning of the end of days. Let's wait & see as nobody knows the day nor hour so people could be wrong. Keep watch Christians for Jesus to come from heaven. Pray for the grace to escape all these things that r to come. God's mercy on us all. -
I think the 'Black Death' was a sign. I think the flu of 1918 was a sign. I think cholera, polio and HIV are signs. As the Apostles would have been the first to say, Jesus will be returning soon. However, our sense of time is a bit different from God's.

Actually i was thinking & many of my atheistic friends r thinking, was it self fulfilling prophecies? Meaning people cause their own doom so to speak? Could history have been changed if Jesus wasnt crucified & the Jews heeded the call of God & received Him with open arms? Need Jesus be crucified? Then who's going to pay for our sins? That's why i believe all God's will & man has no say at all. Predestiny & election of God. Total depravity of men. Grace to be given by God alone. We can't save ourselves bcos all under influence of satan & sin. In a way i support Calvinism but still many questions on my mind & only if i can go to heaven one day then can be answered. I pray I won't end up in hell. May God give me the grace to escape hell & same to you.

I would welcome views from Nostradamus' fans to be put here. I also read a bit about his prophecies. Could be true but who or what is the source of his inspiration? I am sorry but after i went to the ad abt the book, i dont agree with Nostradamus as a true prophet of God according to the Bible. Bcos Jesus wasnt mentioned. Instead a Great Genius is mentioned. It's all New Age stuff. I have been there before. Reducing God to a Great Genius(prob advanced human being) & communication with aliens? I wonder is the bible more ludicrious or is he more ludicrious? This is a setup man. Who are these beings or aliens? Satan can masquerade as an angel of light u know. So we have to be careful. - Yeah, right.You asked an honest question and are seeking clarification. Maybe you could restate your question, so it could be answered more clearly. Am I correct to assume that your question is whether or not man makes prophecies come to pass? If so, then the answer is yes in the sense that man is fulfilling God's plan. God has spoken in His word what will come to pass, and since God is sovreign (all powerfull, knowing, ever present) He forknew what man was going to do. Biblical prophecies are 100% accurate and Jesus alone fulfilled over 300 of them.

Other religions have no prophecies, they have mere conjectures. Satan can kind of take a good guess what man might do in any given situation, since he has observed us for so many years. Based upon those observations he makes predictions, which can be obtained by visiting psychics and other assorted flase prophets. Nostradamus comes to mind, who is highly regarded nowadays, but nevertheless was a false prophet. Also keep in mind that Satan knows God's word better than we do, so he gives his own little spin to some future events and the world goes AHH!
At the time of Jesus life here on earth, there was no general literacy and books were not readily available. As a matter of fact, there were no books, but scrolls and these were only accessible to the very rich and the religious elite. The last thing the Sanhedrin wanted to do was fulfill prophecy. The prophecy in Ezekiel 26 showing that Israel would once again come into the land was prophesied in Ezekiel and also in Jeremiah. These prophecies would have been made before the birth of Christ yet were fulfilled in 1948. Many prophetic events prophesied in the Bible are today coming true and I do believe that we are in the last days before the rapture, tribulation and then the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you have any doubts, you can go to other christians forums that have mature and friendly christians who can seriously and wisely comment on your doubts.
If the context of "Self-Fulfilling" meaning is it fulfilling itself as stated, that answer would be a whole hearted yes. The Bible has withstood critics and criticism for many years yet has held its ground as complete "truth."

I think ppl should go take a look at the website as well as the forum there. I went to the apostasy section & lo, so many truths i learn. The church really in a mess man, even in US! & thousands of believers & non believers are being misled thru deceptive doctrines. One such doctrine is Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life 40 Day series to grow a church into a megachurch.

I remember the first sign of the staff turning into a snake. I think Moses' snake ate up the rest of the snakes by the magicians, am i correct? Or did i get it wrong? Pls help. -

Ya, I heard that too. Hopefully Rick warren is not here to deceive us. I dont know why but maybe my outlook is more fatalistic. Or maybe i was influenced as a young believer in eschatology. Or maybe bcos i was involved in the occult so i tend towards the prophetic & supernatural. Or maybe this is my calling. Actually i always thot that Christians should look forward to His coming again. W/c is why many r not watching now or got distracted by worldly things. I am not saying live like a hermit or monk but sometimes i feel that being sanctified ppl w/c means separated ppl, we have no part with the world & the world will definitely persecute us in big or small ways. This is not heaven. This is not the new earth. Like Paul, we should groan tog w creation for the redemption of our bodies & the glorious revealing of the true sons of God. I believe many r groaning now even earth is groaning. The Holy Spirit is groaning.
I see so much suffering in the world. So much bloodshed. Cant help but be interested in end times bcos so close now. Look what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 7:29-31: "But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away."

I know some of the traditional churches use his book to teach the church. My church (for the english side ... ) was one of them much earlier. Now, I think they didn't use it. Anway, we shouldn't assume that he is the antichrist or whatever. He still believe in Christ and I still think his book quite helpful in some way. It is too early to speculate now.... Yes, i was involved as a young child & many of these harry potter thing etc are very dangerous. Ppl with weak minds or easily influenced will be overcome & might even start dabbling in occult themselves. I advise certain ppl not to read these bks bcos they might be hooked. Just the same as p0rn etc. Why so many drug addicts? Why some easily influenced & cant get out while others could? I hate it when some groups of ppl say it's ok for kids when they dont even know what they're talking abt or maybe they know but purposely suppress the truth to destroy young minds? Not many Christians living like Christians anyway in S'pore. & i am not saying i m holy man. We have our faults but some ppl just too much.

Well that's why started my own forum. Anyway, ppl have diff views. So rebukes will happen but like what u say it's the tone that matters. Bcos i remember Aesop's fables abt persuasion is better than force. Bcos the harder (the wind) u force the more the man wont take off his coat. So the sun (or Son) has to shine & then the man will take off his coat! -

There are many major signs of Doomsday.
1) Messiah have to be found. Where is the Messiah now? In the Quran, he only appears at the emergence of the one eyed demon called "Dajjal"
2) Gogs and Magogs are to appear in Southern Israel. They are supposedly shrewd merchants. and who are they?
3) The Sun rising from the west and sets in the east? Happened so far?
4) Palestine gaining control over Israel. Progress?
