Tactics Usage.

Hi, would like to ask,
lets say if i play long passes, is it correct if i play quick tempo?
and, width, does it have to be corresponding to tempo?
does closing down have to match defensive lines? -

Of course you can mix and match. What I observed in 7.0.2 is that the players will still tend to mix it around quite a bit. Remember, you're only giving them instructions, not playing for them. You can't control how they think like in real life.
The range of closing down means how far up the field will your team start to pressure the other side. Therefore, normally, it's low closing down and deep defensive line and vice versa.
But of course, you can have a high defensive line and normal closing down. No problems with that. Since defensive line means how high up the field your back 4 or whatever will go.
Thus, this shows how deep the game can be. -

I observed that when the strikers cannot score, it's because either their goalkeeper too on form or the second one, which you can remedy, is because their central defenders defend too well.Originally posted by LordIcarus:okay thanks.

For the second reason, note down your striker "Jumping" stat and the defender's "Jumping" stat. Note that if you're using a target man, long pass system, your striker's "Jumping" must be higher than the defender's "Jumping" stat, otherwise, the defender will keep head off your long passes, thus breaking up your attack.
This "Jumping" stat, in my opinion, is the most important stat in the game. Unless you're playing a short, ball-to-feet system. But even then, your players will still play high balls from time to time, which is where you want your strikers to be able to head it. -

But what I observed is that tall people generally have high "Jumping" stat and shorter people have low "Jumping" stat. Note "Jumping" and "Heading" are two different things. One is to jump and one is to head. (Duh!)
In short, if you want to choose a target man, choose someone with a high "Jumping" stat. -
I suggest u pair Crouch and Aguero, reason? Aguero is fast and has composure but Torres does not have it. Go tactics, set Crouch as Target Man and give your team instructions to let target man get the ball through the air. Secondly, go to tactics again, give your goalkeeper instruction, set distribution long kicks and aim Crouch. This way, when taking goal kicks, he aims at Crouch and Crouch will head towards opponent goal line and Aguero will run to get the ball and score from one on onesOriginally posted by LordIcarus:okay thanks.

Thats the method i'm currently using. I'm pairing Michael Owen and Rolando Bianchi together -

Maybe you also can try putting Torres with the attacking midfielder whom the AM can play as a striker also.

If you are, there's nothing to worry about.
What's worrying is that you are not creating chances. Then you have to examine every player, their actual performances on the field and figures where it goes wrong. -

Strikers do have droughts from time to time. It's up to you to rotate them efficiently so that they dun burn out. -
