Please advise
Thanks
neber been to perth
but i love GC!
great ocean road
GC got movie world, water world & dream world
like a nice place to visit
the 2 places that you've mentioned are radically different....it all depends on what you like. if you enjoy the coastal scenery and love the sun-sand-sea, then GC is the place for you. there are also numerous theme parks at GC i.e. seaworld, dreamworld, movie world etc.
perth itself is not terribly exciting in my personal opinion...but like i've said..it all depends on what you are looking for. there are still interesting places to go in perth vicinity that you might enjoy for wine-tasting & sightseeing i.e. swan valley (vineyards), fremantle etc.
why not sydney? melbourne? if you enjoy the cities....these 2 are probably much more vibrant and exciting as compared to perth.
Do the GoldCoast.
Bring plenty of money and sleep as much as you can on the plane, so you can wake up early to take the bus to the Worlds. Spent at least 1 day in each world.
Bring Bikinis too so you can have fun at Seaworld too.
And be careful of sandflies bites. I ganna and my face swelled so big and I was so uncomfortable, I didnt enjoy much.
Avoid those tours that means going to three places at once. You wont have the time to enjoy it.
Go to Sunshine Coast and visit the reefs. (thats what the biknis are for too.) Rent a car and drive there in the early morning. Laze at the cafes when you are tired.
And if possible, get a service apartment, but avoid cooking, since you wont have time to finish all the cooking oil, soy sauce & condiments. Even for one week stay, you are better off buying frozen stuffs to microwave and stay in when you dont feel like going out.
Perth, I've been, except for the drive to Freementle market & the other drive to the oldest town near Perth & the koala zoo, there is not much there.
go to gold coast !!!! from there rent a car or a tour to byron bay which is 1.5hrs away
Not sure if u've already travelled, but depends on what you look out for & who you travelling with.
Perth:
+ points: Short flight, relatively uncrowded, nice beaches (like Cottlesloe), Rottnest Island. Gd for a short trip/
In my opinion, Waverock tour is a waste of time, it's just a piece of big rock which will take you a few hrs to reach fr Perth city.
Avoid going in summer, esp Nov/Dec. I was there ard Dec and experienced a lot of flies in the outskirts, Australian flies r really v irritating!
Gold Coast would be a better bet. There's theme parks like mentioned above. Surfers Paradise, nice sunset. Also, if u have the time & r into nature stuff, can try going to Frasers Island (a sand island). U can do a day tour tho it's quite rush, or an overnight stay there.
GC of cos...
