As above, any fellow singaporeans here?
Was looking at the expat list but no one seems to be in Geneva :(
wow....how's living in geneva? snow a lot like us here in toronto?
i've visited Geneva backpacking, but what is it like to live and work there?
geneva's great! love it here. so many places to go to and the piece de la resistance is obviously the lake, which i never get bored of. beautiful to run along it during warmer times and chill by during the cold seasons. i've only been here for 5 months so i've not experienced winter here yet, but i was looking through photos of my friends' and apparently it snows quite a bit here, but i doubt it's as much as what you get up there in toronto.
being a singaporean, no place will ever meet our insatiable appetite for food, but there are many alternatives. geneva's condensed with people from all over the world and somehow everyone's been able to carve out a home away from home here, so it's pretty alright. i was talking to a colleague of mine today and he said that there's a jack's place right here in geneva, so i should go check it out. price wise, it's decent enough. much better than when i stayed in uk for 2 years. not only did that burn a hole in my pocket, it burned the whole damn pants as well.
so far so good. not too bored with the place yet. one thing good about switzerland is that it's in the center of western europe, so basically i am a stone's throw from anywhere. paris, milan, amsterdam baby! if you're too bored you can always rely on their very, very efficient train network here to go whereever.
yup so that's about it about life in geneva. where are you guys at?
Like they say, what wind blew you there? Sadly I can't view your links.
I'm in San Diego. I know of a Singapore girl living there by the name of Pushpa.
wow....thanks hatz for the reader's digest version. i've never been to europe other than transit at heathrow. travelling via atlantic to s'pore is not exactly my first choice either. but i do hope to visit geneva some day.
do come back here often to chat. :)
btw, how cold is it now? i can't speak for other province but ontario is known to move straight into winter from summer. our fall is kinda short if any at all. even summer is short but i don't mind. not exactly a fan of summer. :P
well im just actually doing my internship here in geneva. i'm in a hotel school over in montreux, but i'm considering transferring over to somewhere in the states.
personally, i love europe, especially switzerland. like i've said, it's in the middle of everything and even though it's small, there's a ratatouille of cultures here that just seems to blend in with one another. if i do go to the states, i'd love to go up to canada to visit my friends there. one's in vancouver and another's in lethbridge, apparently quite ulu.
weather's here been rather odd, past few weeks it's been dead cold but just 2 days ago it's become warmer and you can feel that it's fall, but everyone knows that this will be shortlived before we all go into the big freeze again.
6 MORE WEEKS BEFORE I GO HOME!!!!!!!! :D
