well, I wouldn't know about the salt bit ..... but sand definitely ... as you can see from the pics ... Honestly, when the temp here drops to -40 to -50 .... A few pics taken at the Tian1 Qi2 (Heavenly Lake) at Urumqi (U Lu3 Mu4 Qi2) in China. The lake is located at Tian Shan (Heavenly mountain) and is co-called because the lake is situated at almost 2,000m above sea level. The local fable is that the lake was a meeting place for the heavenly celestials.

Wanda -> the plain pratas were bought locally, the onion ones were bought to me by a friend in Edmonton, they cost around C$4/packet of 6, but it still doesn't beat prata with friends at 24hour kopitiams, with a glass of iced milo by the side though ...
Went back to school today to look for some second hand textbooks for the new term, and went down to the river park for a walk, it's still as foggy as ever, but the weather is still a relatively balmy -4 celcius, so it's still a nice day ...

as above, it's a lovely walk in summer and autumn, but a torturous walk in the worst winter days ...
part of my daily trudge to school ... see those naked trees ? ... in autumn when the leaves are red and orange and gold, it's beautiful then, but now, it just reminds me of Siberia ...
foggy foggy day .... but not a soul was around, and that's how i like my walks ...
