Hi TooFree,
thanks for ur compliment & input. It doesnt matter if you have limited travelling exposure. We are all here to share and you may even end up visiting a country after reading some inputs from the members. So where you have been to?

Hi Fatum,
I seconded ur idea! Actually, me oso a budget traveller. Looking for all sorts of cheap accomodations, places of interested via the website and inputs from forumers. Btw, me havent tried back-packing, but would love to try out.
Hi leo-kun,
I agreed with ToffeClub1929 that dun have to spend lot on holidays. I went to Taipei this March too, it was sooo cold. Avg abt 10 degree. Spent $800 on accomodations and flights for two pax. The airfare cost me $200 (including of all taxes) each, promotion from Jetstar. The accomodation is abt $80+ per room per night. Think din really do my homework for that trip, cos many places din go and lots of nice food din try. So me considering going again to taste all the nice food there, cos din manage to do that on my last trip.
Why not start by going to M'sia with ur friends, like Genting or beach resorts or Island eg: Redang. The place is very beautiful, can try snorkelling. Its not very exp. Last July 05, Five-star travel got promotion for Mutiaria Redang resort for $199, includes coach, transfer, full board and snorkelling trips. Value for $$. Do call them if to check on their current promotions.

Luckily there are quite a number of budget airlines and now the airfares are relatively cheaper than before. Do checkout www.airfares.com.sg, they always have lots of promotion going-on.
Btw, planning for my next trip to Bangkok this Oct for 6D5N. Also very budget one, airfares abt $95 (including taxes) and accomodation is abt $32 per room per night.
haha, cos dun wan to kan cheong my shopping trips. Cos got alot of shopping places to go eg: Mah Boon Krong, Siam Areas, Sukumvit areas, Chinatown area. And oso to eat nice and cheap food. ya, agree that have to compare prices before booking the tix from airfares.com.sg, cos sometimes airline got their own promotion.
6D5N!! in Bangkok, u go there do what?...hmm...my imagination getting wild liao
do agree that www.airfares.com.sg does have many promotions, but prices have to compare first as they sometimes might be on the high side.
Well that is the problem with those budget airlines....Originally posted by mylittlepony:haha, cos dun wan to kan cheong my shopping trips. Lastest promo from Tigerairways $19.98 to Bangkok, Phuket and etc. But must travel betw 1-30 sept 2005. Do check it out if interested.
travel agencies always got the first cut, by the time it comes to consumers like us, don't even know whether there is 1000 tickets left or notOriginally posted by ToffeeClub1929:Well that is the problem with those budget airlines....
Everytime got special promo like those $9.90 tickets, I can never be able to get hold of any the 15,000 tickets up for sale..
Sometimes I wonder if it is a marketing gimmick

ya, i oso think so, all those $9.90 seats got snapped up by the travel agencies. But if u want to secure the $9.90 seats, you got to 1) book very fast (the day when they launch the promo, cos lot of kiasu ppl will cheong to make the bookings) or 2) book for weekdays flights only. This is based on my own experience. i just booked Tigerairways to Bangkok, going on Wed and coming back on Tue. So like dat, got the cheapest seat for return flights.Originally posted by ToffeeClub1929:Yarlor....
