Is Singapore a postmodern society?

All fash and image, lights and sounds, where every sign falls into the simulacrum. Has the signified collapsed into signifier in Singapore? A tiny island plugged into the world, swallowing whole-sale the plethora of information, fads and news, have we come a people without meta-narratives, disconnected from an overarching way of life, contented to waddle in our personal pools of narratives? Have we suddenly become postmodern?

Post-modern Singapore? Nah, we are still stuck in the nitty-gritty mundane realities of today -- Look into the HDB Heartland, and the not so post-modern CBD.
