Traffic was brought to a halt along Braddell Road (towards Bartley) after Toa Payoh when a car mounted a centre divider on Tuesday (April 19) morning.
The car's driver, a 46-year-old man, is believed to have lost control of his vehicle before it skid and mounted the divider.
A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said it was alerted to the accident at around 6.48am and dispatched a single ambulance.
The driver was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for neck pain, the spokesman added.
The Land Transport Authority tweeted about the accident at 6.56am and advised motorists to avoid the right lane.
A subsequent update at 8.55am said there was congestion till the Pan Island Expressway.
