SINGAPORE - Private car sellers can now get the best price for their vehicles by using new service Wheel Deal.
Launched by Singapore Press Holdings at The Cars@Expo, the service helps mine the market for the best prices.
Wheel Deal allows owners to gather and shortlist offers from used car dealers, and receive the highest quote for their vehicle within one working day.
Open to commercial vehicle owners, companies or even government agencies, users can sign up for the service via a hotline, SMS, or on itswebsite.
Sellers who complete successful transactions with any one of the Wheel Deal recommended dealers will receive $50 worth of petrol vouchers.
"Not every car owner is familiar with the used car market," said Ms Florence Tan, senior advertisement sales director at SPH Print Classified Call Centre.
"Most car owners trade in their cars when they buy a new one. They are not aware that other car dealers may buy their used cars at a higher price," Ms Tan added.
"People selling their cars always want the best price but may not know how or lack the time to get the best quotes," head of SPH Classified Call Centre Angie Choong said.
"Wheel Deal gets our readers the best value when they sell their car."
Mr Derrick Sim, 44, who is self-employed, is among the first to successfully sell their cars through Wheel Deal after the service soft-launched on Oct 1.
He sold his six-year-old Kia Cerato to 99 Motors Trading within a few days of getting the quote through Wheel Deal.
"When I found out there was this new service to help me sell my car at the best price, I decided to give it a try. It is a fast and convenient way to sell my car. I saved myself the trouble of having to receive calls and letting strangers test drive my car. With Wheel Deal, there is an assurance that I am getting quotes from serious buyers," he said.
