latest results from our debut appearance at superbowl hougang!
itz a 16 points system, 4points from each bowler, and 4points for team total pinfall.
there is also the round robin, where the overall total pinfall will be used to rank the teams and 12 points willl be given to the 1st team, and 1 point to the last team.
therefore, each week, max points a team can score is 16+12=28points.
here are the respective scores from our bowlers:
michelle : 155 135 146 average 147, handicap 33! LOL
Kevin : 155 169 171 average 165, handicap 7
Jae : 168 181 166 average 171, handicap 4
mich wasn't her usual self today.. all-time low average! HOwEvEr, with the outstanding HIGH handicap, managed to clinch 3 out of 4 points from opponent! LOL!!

jae, our anchor man for today
, did well today, but he had a tough match with his strong opponent, and managed to fight for 1.5 points. the 0.5 point is due to the same total pinfall.
we managed to score a full 4 points for team total.
as for the round robin, results are not out until next week. so stay tuned!
overall, good performance by the team, winning them 12.5 to 3.5 ! -

for the guys, handicap will be (180 - your average) / 2
for females, handicap is (180 - her average).
there are quite a few rules and regulations that need attention. will post it up soon. -

RULES AND REGULATIONS for the Trios League @ Hougang Superbowl
ok,. there is about 4 pages worth of rules n regulations, BUT, i'm not gona type everything out! hahaha.. i'll juz list out the main important ones that may be different from other leagues.
The league comprises of 12 teams and shall run for 22 weeks on a 2 round robin system. The league runs on a 16 point system.
1 point for each game won by bowlers with hdcaps 9 games (9 points)
1 point for the bowlers series with hdcaps 3 games (3 points)
1 point for teams games with hdcaps 3 games (3points)
1 point for teams total series with hdcaps (1point)
total 16 points
[Round Robin]
The team with highest pinfalls every week (with hdcap) will get 12 points. 2nd highest 11 points and so on. if a tie occurs the points will be divided simultaneously. The last team will get 1 point.
Total overall points for standing position will be 28 points.
*Important for latecomers*
No player can join in after the 4th frame. And the 1st few frames will have zero score, until the point that he starts bowling. so, if he joins in on the 3rd frame, "frame one 0-, frame two 0-, frame three *watever he bowled*" got it? so, DON'T BE LATE!!!!
The blind score is 120 pins scratch. And $15 must be paid even if there is a blind.
[Roll Offs]
Each team is allowed 3 roll off per round and must be bowled 6pm before the scheduled night, after which will be considered a walkover. There shall be no roll off during the last 2 weeks of the league season. League matches shall be postponed during all holiday eve and public holidays.
3 walkovers considered withdrawal from the league!
[Qualifiers for prize awards]In order to qualify for individual and team prizes, a bowler must have bowled:-
Individual High Game/Series = 15 games
High Average = 21 games
*Master event = 12 games
* the rules for the masters will be posted up next time. anyway, there will only be ONE master event at the end of the league. (10 games series)
okay, PERFECT GAME AWARD, will only be claimed ONCE a year. Roll off matches are not eligible for house awards, but during masters, it will be recognised. During first 4 weeks of the league, anyone who hits 300 will not be recognised.

there has been a slight change in the team again...
Melvin will not be able to join us due to work commitments..
so, we welcome another member, Benson Oh, also a spinner.

Round robin's results for the 1st week: we came in 7th place.. so we have 6 points for that.
therefore, a total of 12.5 + 6 = 18.5 points , putting us 6th on the overall table! WHeee!!

Our youngest bowler in the team, 1st time at superbowl, started with a bang, but, heehee.. wasn't able to sustain his game.. ( took home 1 point )
James, who was very new to the lanes and hasn't been bowling for a long time, was faced with a very strong opponent who had handicap! ( took home 1 point )
*ps : performance could be due to the "long-time-no "carrying of the 2 ball bag! LOL"
Daryl, our resident rev-er, was confronted with 2 swimming pools.. lol.. like what he mentioned, the lanes are indeed flooding.. can u imagine,. even with his much revs,. his ball only hooked 5-10 boards? lol.. so, the rest, u guys can imagine huh.. ( took home 1 point )
overall, if my calculations arn't wrong, we lost 3 - 13.
as for round robin, results out next week.
i must say, their opponents are one of the many old and seasoned house bowlers there at superbowl.. we'll be meeting many of such teams in time to come. haha.. if we're lucky, we may even be up against jennifer tan ? haha..
