Sputnik Sweetheart - Haruki MurakamiThe narrator, K is in love with Sumire who aspires to write. Sumire is in love with another woman, Miu who is 17 years her senior and a very successful and chic businesswoman. In frustration, the narrator has an affair with the mother of his student.
Then out of the blue, K gets a call from Miu in a Greek island, telling him that Sumire has disappeared suddenly.
Miu is also psychically scarred by her past, in a surreal retelling of her past to Sumire.
A surreal book which one is captivated by, and the reader is somehow drawn into hoping for K.
Not that bad a read, not his best effort. 3 1/2 out of 5
