Mark Haddon wrote this book about an autistic but supremely logical boy who cannot understand human emotions.
He lives seeing patterns, rules and math. Normal people interaction has no meaning for him and is cannot see the point in them.
One night, his neighbour's dog, Wellington is killed.
He goes and finds the killer in a "logical method" causing relationship explosions around him, both nuclear and conventional.
And ultimately finding why the dog was killed.
However, this reader found it really boring and pandering in a "Rain Man" kind of way.
