Kenji is a "personal tour guide" whose job is in fact, a sex tour guide.
Things start to become strange and scary when Frank, an American tourist becomes his latest client.
Kenji suspects his client is a serial killer as he looks into the eyes of Frank and finds something that causes him to fear for his very soul.
Kenji's moral paralysis and complicity in the activities of his client reveals the rotten interior of his society.
Ultimately, it is his girlfriend who saves him, leaving him to wonder if his society is lost in their rush for instant gratification and pleasure.

Is this Muraki the same as the one that wrote Norwegian Wood, The wind up Bird Chronicle and A Wild Sheep Chase?? I love that Murakami!!

no.. this is the other Murakami, Ryu..
the other who wrote Norwegian Wood is Haruki Murakami...
right now, starting on his book Kafka on the Shore
will be slow coz waylaid by other easier books to read like Hardboiled and Hard Luck by Banana Yoshimoto and Shaggy Dogs and Black Sheep by Albert Jack
and a few other books..
i've a bad habit of starting many books and reading them all together
