Looks like some promo is only a marketing gimmick.
Must clarify clearly before signing contract.
Read news today that SMRT has new hourly rental scheme starting next mth,
Premier bluff children, ask me to re-contract then can get bonus
Another trick.
I was in SMRT Woodlands today to return my taxi after serving 21 days notice. I was shocked at the number of taxis that are parked there unhired. SMRT has gone back to $120 per day rental, I guess in anticipation of good response to their hourly rental scheme. They say after the one cheap trial the price will be $12.80 per hr for peak hours. Late return will be $10 per 10 mins. Wahaha..... who so kum gong to take!!!!
Any idea how they charge/ calculate fuel consumption for hourly rental?
Btw, what is petrol/hybrid? Means can run on petrol and diesel?

It say only 5% of their 3500 taxis are not rent out leh. So 175 taxi. I think the figure is at least 10-15%
Return and collect car at specific carparks can be a hassle. Maybe only suitable for newbies to try out but definitely not for long term.
just now met another premier driver when i went to HQ to refuel
he sign a new 6 months contract, he told me DON't have $2800
only $300 disel cash rebate after 3 months. other things i forgot what he said. rent is $121 for k5
After observing for abt a week, the number of taxis queuing today at taxi stands begins to increase again.
Which are the poorest business periods? School holidays?

Sounds sup sup water to you
Originally posted by bowah:Drive taxi of cos sup sup water lah, any tom and dick also can drive…it is one of the most easy entry job, even my casket driving need more qualification and discipline to enter than taxi driving.
So, when a job is easy to enter, do you think is difficult??? do you think it paid well? do you think you can sit at the office and money will just flow in?? To the govt, it is second last frontier of the lowest job a man will go into because of many factors.
Which Uni or Poly teaches you taxi driving?? zero
Therefore, job that is easy to enter always need a person to work harder, longer and suffer in order to earn their bread and butter or in Asian context, their rice and veges.
In a right mindset, NO parents, nor any current taxi drivers or Phv drivers who are parents of some young kids will ask their son or daughter to be Taxi drivers or Phv drivers.
It is so easy, easier than a cleaner job, just sign out a vehicle and drive, then all hell break loose.
As long as is service line, some ppl will treat them as second class.
