I understand it is not easy to be td. Back pain, hot and rainy weather, cannot drink too much water, aircon blowing, handling difficult and unreasonable passengers, many perceived it as lower status job, long working hours, no cpf, no medical leave, no annual leave, mental fatigue, school holidays bad income, road bullies, accidents, traffic fines, passenger complaints, health problems, lack of social skills, etc.....
Despite knowing so many disadvantages of td, i am still seriously considering to be one.
Many ppl and some taxi drivers themselves and discourage this trade. I thk it is really tough to be a td. Driving long hours really mentally exhausting. I thk the only few advantages is OTOT and making use of the vehicle for own transport. OTOT is really the one that attracts me.

Thanks and appreciate for your kind advice. I am also worried abt leaving my job and to take up taxi driving. Thats why i am trying to get more info. Has been thinking of quitting my job for awhile but still holding to it. I will just let nature take its place.

Thanks for the info/ advice! Yes. If i were to drive taxi , i will start as relief/ super relief. Better dun stressed myself being hirer for a start.
Went to collect my tdvl and registered with citycab as relief today. Arranged a one day course in two wks time. Was told that i need to find a hirer and start driving within two mths or else i need to re-apply again. Felt pressured by them.

Go Comfort Driver's Portal and find a hirer to drive on Sundays since you work Saturdays. Should be quite easy to find. Or you can put up your requests in the portal. btw, you can drive for comfort hirers oso. Citycab/Comfort sama sama.
Thanks alot for your info! Saw some postings and will try out as super relief next month. Sundays less traffic and less pressure from passengers.
