Want to be super relief and drive as and when you can, then should join comfort/citycab. They have the most hirers looking for super relief.
Ok bros! Great info! Got the urge to quit my job and be OMO. But really worried i cannot tahan long hrs of driving. So i keep reminding myself dun make harsh decision. I will registered with comfort and try to start as super relief. Planning to get a garmin gps to help me in road planning. Any idea what is the deposit amount for Comfort and what's the usual market rate for full day sunday as super relief? Not sure if it is alright to discuss taxi rental rates in this forum.

newbie, try relief first. if u can handle the downside of the trade, then upgrade to hirer.
garmin gps, make sure its updated with latest map data. deposit should be 1K, hopefully they yet to change that.
rental rate for weekend? if it is one off super relief for a job, its usually about 75% of the normal rate. if its long term relief driver, normal rate, but if can get a lower rental is bonus as weekend crowds appear much later, and there's more morning peak hours surcharge
hirer u like it or not, u still need to pay full rental.
relief, u just pay lesser if u not driving, depending whats arranged between the partnership
Thanks J007 for your detailed info!

hirer, no relief - u drive till u are really shag, 7 days a week, like it or not, high cost, drive longer to see same amount of money
relief - easier to see $, but also subject to hirer's mood, as and when they ask u to return key. of course relief can do the same too. it'll take a while again before u can get another hirer partnership..
should i be a hirer again? sigh
been thru the shaggness of being one, then downgrade to be relief. less stress and shaggness when i was a relief, but hirer can ask u to go when they like it.. thus end up idling before getting another partnership.
been thinking should i go back again be hirer.. what are your opinions?
or should i try to jump out of this trade, try seeking other jobs? maybe like being a personal driver kind of job?

1.2 how to survive in todays standard of living?
Life's not easy nowadays. Monthly bills killing me. Btw, any idea what's the contract for hiring with taxi companies?
I estimate full day rental plus fuel costs is abt $170. To me, it is a huge amount and i bet i need at least 7 hrs to cover the costs. Sounds like free labor for 7 hours. Holding me back to become a hirer. I initially thot of being OMO as i like flexibility.

no talking new car, no contract.
basic rule of thumb, on average first 5 hours of driving as a hirer under normal working day crowd is for breakeven purpose. whereas for a relief, just divide that time by 2.
hirer / relief, both can be OTOT, but the cost commitment must be fulfilled before own income.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Fortunately i can get some reliable info before i start to be one. Do u mean old car like sonata from comfort? chevrolet from smrt? Wish from transcab? Any restrictions for newbies like me? I heard night shift earns faster and better but i do not wish to sacrifice my time with family.
Those no. of hrs i guess u r referring to peak hrs. Not to bad though. At least daily targets are achievable. Only concerns are during school holidays and some bad days. Still not too bad.
Those hrs could include fr 9.30am-5.00pm.
Sounds gd! That's better than I expected! Quite eager to experience it myself.
Yeah it's like working office hours.Fun man!
Thanks! A positive info indeed!
