Going to publish my e-book next year

  ... hopefully! Probably near/when I ord, thats when I have some time. Any suggestions how to go about it? Of course before I get to the publishing part, I need a major editing of the ebook... make it more compact, eliminate unnecessary parts, etc. Thusness told me there are no books existing on earth that talks about all 7 stages in one book... then this will be the first one in history.

   

   

  As I see it, in this world, very few actually realize anatta (already very very rare - most are just no mind, one mind, or I AM) and furthermore presents those insights systematically, and are able to differentiate experience from realization (such as no mind experience from anatta insight), or different phases of insight (one mind from no mind, etc). This leads to confusion, lack of understanding, and inability to guide their students to realization.

  There is a lot of lack of clarity in the world... and I am no teacher, but hopefully it can do some good.

  I have no such plans. My local dharma teacher at my dharma center I frequent, while discussing with me about certain things, once talked about training future dharma teachers, I immediately said to her I don't know how to give dharma talks... lol

  My Taiwanese teacher (dharma successor of Master Shen Kai) when meeting me to discuss some of the practice articles I wrote, told me personally,

  When they mentioned about me going to university and so on, he also said something like 'don't be a slave to worldly life and conditions, be a saint who benefit the sentient beings' (not exact words but roughly like that).

   

  While I agree with what he said, I don't think I am the kind of person for full time teaching of dharma.

   

  Also, I really like the Dharma Overground's approach to dharma:

  • pragmatism over dogmatism: what works is key, with works generally meaning the stages of insight, the stages of enlightenment, jhanas, freedom from suffering in what ways are possible, etc.
  • diligent practice over blind faith: this place is about doing it and understanding for yourself rather than believing someone else and not testing those beliefs out
  • openness regarding what the techniques may lead to and how these contrast or align with the traditional models
  • personal responsibility: you take responsibility for the choices you make and what you say and claim
  • a lack of taboos surrounding talking about attainments
  • the assumption that the various aspects of meditative development can be mastered in this life
  • the spirit of mutual, supportive adventurers on the path rather than rigid student-teacher relationships
  • and the notion that the collective wisdom of a group of strong practitioners at various stages and from various traditions and backgrounds is often better than following one guru-type.

  Also, as a Zen priest (who himself realized anatta) commented to me, I must say that you and Thusness are now the only practitioners that I am aware of who have not only mastered these stages, but are also able to explain them clearly in a step-by-step manner.

  The phases of insights and realizations r unique according to one's journey and therefore u will not find it elsewhere.  However do not say things like u will not "find it on earth".

  Next I have told u unless given permission, not to publish private mails in public.  

  Lastly how can there be no teachers realizing anatta?  Not to get over excited and tame ur mind.

  Hmm... what I mean is not that there are no teachers realizing anatta (in fact I listed a number to you in the mail), but 'no teachers realize anatta and yet are able to distinguish all the phases, difference between experience and realization clearly' as far as I know.

  chen ming an chuan jiao shi quite cheem , but i can see the huayan thoughtlines in his answer .very inspiring for any ppl to propagate the dharma and pitfall to avoid :)

  So one should practice reasoning and matter without hindrance (huayan teaching ),then that’s in accordance with Buddha’s teaching.staying in Saha world with minute defilement .if this thought can help sentient beings attain enlightenment thus vow “I vow not to reside in Nirvanic bliss ,also not to reside in the dharmadhatu .so one thought attainment ,which is the condition of future Buddhahood.

  There are many practitioners in the Tibetan tradition with high realisations beyond Anatta only that they are not in public profile cos they shun fame and distractions.  It is like that. And many past practitioners attain very good signs at the point of death.  Also, for them, it is not in their character to talk or describe their realisations.  That's why it seems rare.  Very good that you are willing to share with us. As we all need encouragement and pointers and an example on the way.

   why so fast print?  why not get more experience first, then maybe a better book will emerge?

  Of course need to pay for it. I don't intend to sell it for a profit (it will be good if I can recover the costs): in fact I intend to keep my online free version for free... just that those who wish to get a hardcopy can do so.

  Nowadays publishing online don't need so much of a capital, since self-publishing allows 'print on demand' online.
