Led by Khenpo (abbot) Lobsang Jinpa and 7 venerable monks from Key Gompa which is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 13,504 ft, in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, in India. Kee Gompa is the biggest monastery in Spiti Valley and a religious training center for Lamas. It was founded by Dromton (1008-1064 AD), a pupil of the famous Indian Pundit and teacher Atisha, in the 11th century.
The highlights are Grand Fire Puja of Increase (3 Dec) and White Umbrella Goddess Grand Dispelling & Subduing Puja (4 Dec) which is one of the most powerful and sacred puja. The puja will consecrate and offer tormas (ritual cakes) to dispel negative disturbances and subdue evil forces. By the blessings of the White Umbrella Goddess and her surrounding deities in the form of tormas and seek their protection from various obstacles. The monks will perform elaborate rituals, prayers and offering the tormas in a huge fire to dispel the negatives forces.
