Is it true that in Buddhism if one commits suicide the person will continue to commit suicide in every life he rebirth?
mahayana said 9 rebirths as suicides, but theravda, not entirely true.
hmm, not sure why locked, perhaps talk about suicide. sensitive. change the title.
i haven't heard of mahayana said 9 rebirths for suicides. maybe got some true that they would do it again one or a few time due to the habitual pattern. unless they change their mindset.
i just know when reborn in ghost realm(maybe after hell realm) , they will do it again and again in ghost realm itself.

heard from mahayana monk, hui li fa shi said 9 lifetimes mah haha in his talk. its hard to say for sure how many lifetimes, as karma is subtle and complex to understand. I heard Ajahn Brahm from theravda tradition, said depends on karma and the person's last thought moment.
Yeah, I've heard about this and I've also heard from the Venerables that if a person commits suicide, he will repeat his committing suicide act every 7 days unless he is being reborn again. This is very suffering. If I'm not wrong, it is Master Chin Kong who talked about this.
Repeat the committing suicide act meaning if a person committing suicide by jumping from high floor. He has to do it every 7 days, only "chao du" can save the person. Sometimes there are several people committing suicide at the same spot. Old folks said these lost souls need to get someone to replace their place so that they can be reborn and end their sufferings.
